  What is needed is the encryption code to manipulate the data and send it to the display computer on the cockpit. Israeli OEMs is helping LRDE in its development, not providing the complete source code. What is more important to understand the Modes of the operation, and the encrypted codes to identify the target, and the most difficult part is the ground SAR mode.

  The job needed is the placement and design and soldering of such MMIC Modules in an Antenna. Exciter, IFF transponder is outsourced from the Israel. As far as the Software is concerned, you need OS, which is the Realtime Windriver Linux.

  Radar is 80% Software. Don't buy B.S talks of super dooper broucher talks. In case of the Hardware, you have an Antenna, Exiter, Noise reduction and filter Module and Backend Computer. Parts wise all could be procured including AESA MMIC modules. Only few OEM in the world have inhouse research facility and fabrication facility to produced such components, and India is also procuring them.

  Mate, this question bugging me for a long time. We have acquired more than 200 Mi-17 V5s from Russia. Still why didnt we tried to manufacture it in India under Make in India?

    HAL's IMRH tender was cancelled in 2009 and no fresh tender yet to be issued and no news about EC 725 too.. That means we will have to wait minimum 2020 for either one them..

    IMRH is being worked on internally by HAL and will likely be given official GoI clearance in the next 2-3 years. Airbus Military is actively pitching the EC-725 to meet the IA's requirements as we speak. You are right though, we are easily looking post 2020 to make this a reality.
