11 Indian Soldiers killed on 14 Nov, says General Raheel Sharif

    Syed Sammer Abbas

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday said 11 Indian soldiers were killed on November 14 after Pakistan Army ‘responded to unprovoked firing’.

The Pakistan Army suffered the loss of seven soldiers on the day, all casualties were sustained in the Bhimber sector of the Line of Control (LoC).

“The Indian army should man up and accept their losses,” said the chief of army staff.

He also said that unlike the Indian army, the Pakistan Army accepts and owns its casualties.

General Raheel added that the army should be credited with exemplary teamwork.

“The army has given outstanding results while defending the homeland,” added General Raheel Sharif.

He also said a message has been conveyed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that aggressive actions will not bear any results.

    Cross-border firing a new normal
Cross-border firing appears to have become a routine as tensions simmer between Pakistan and India following an alleged 'surgical strike', unrest in Kashmir and the Uri army base attack.

The Indian deputy high commissioner has been summoned to the Foreign Office several times in protest against 'unprovoked' Indian fire and loss of lives due to incidents of cross-border firing.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stepped up a drive to isolate Pakistan diplomatically after the Uri army base attack last month. Hours after the attack occurred, Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh termed Pakistan a 'terrorist state' and accused Pakistan of involvement.

The Uri attack occurred days before Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was set to address the United Nations General Assembly regarding Indian human rights violations in held Kashmir.

Following the attack, India claimed it had conducted a cross-border 'surgical strike' against 'launch pads of terror' in Azad Jammu and Kashmir — a claim Pakistan has strongly rejected.

Pakistan maintains that India is attempting to divert the world's attention away from atrocities committed by government forces in India-held Kashmir.

Pakistan and India have, most recently, locked horns over Kashmir since Indian forces stepped up a crackdown against protesters after Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani was killed by government forces in July.

    • Can anyone tell me how he knows 11 soldiers were killed? We always give range of figures and mostly the damage done and assessment accordingly, Indian Army never throw numbers randomly like this troll.

    • Also how come this troll-ish chief (no insult intended but his actions justify this title) explain multiple exercises close to Indian border for mere "ceasefire violation on September 29"?

    • This is the same troll-ish COAS who said there was no strike and it was just a ceasefire violation, how could he explain his PM inviting special parliamentary session and multiple all party meeting?

    • When was the last time a nation briefed P5 nation for a single "ceasefire violation"?

    • The troll-ish COAS is asking Indian Army to man up, did he collected those killed when artillery was used? as per Pak Army no soldier was killed by artillery shells. PA is on record denying his own soldiers in Kargil and these cowards are asking Indian Army to accept losses! We are accepting it almost daily, our soldiers are dying everyday but magically no Pak soldier die in cross-border firing.

    • The 7 photos released of the Pak soldiers killed on 14th November looks more like commandos, pretty high level of fitness, is it possible they tried some misadventure on 13th and got their @$$ handed over to them? There was no report of ceasefire violation in that area on that date.

If anyone got inside info, now is the time to release it.

I agree wholly with your brutally honest description, except that I think you should edit your post and remove derogatory references. No matter how offensive the other side is, we have standards to maintain. This business of stooping to their levels to teach them a lesson is not acceptable; we have discussed on other threads that this diminishes us as a nation and a civilisation and drops us down to the level of those who have been trying to harm us.

I ditto your sentiment on this.

@BlackOpsIndia I urge you to consider the above point as made by @Joe Shearer . Let us not stoop down, instead maintain and beat them with facts.

    The facts support us

Well, I am happy Indian Army didnt use the language that troll COAS used. He spoke like some sadak chap idiot and definitely not as decorated officer.

Indian army and govt. can hold the decorum, I, as an expendable can go loose sometimes :) I haven't used any derogatory term but only what he earned. I was very restrained.

Okk, edited a bit, also please tell us if you know if there was some covert op during that time? Those are not normal soldiers, it will be a big coincidence to kill 7 commando type soldiers by ceasefire violation when none other is dying.

Did the BAT meet the Tiger? :)

Fire assaults. Direct fire weapons. No BAT.

Not revealing yet, its ok, you are moderator you can PM me and rest assured of full confidentiality :) Even if it was direct fire it must be an intelligence based assault, knowing where exactly these commandos are deployed.

Commando Gurusewak Singh's death seems to be avenged.

Yeah, I saw that claim but there was nothing substantial in that claim, some marginal proof may have made that claim to be a bit more trustworthy.

“No fatal casualties due to Pak firing on 14, 15 or 16 November. Pak Army Chief claim of killing Indian soldiers on 14 Nov false (sic),” Northern Command of Indian Army said in a tweet.

The Indian Army on Thursday rejected Pakistan’s claim of killing 11 Indian soldiers in cross-border firing across the Line of Control (LoC). “No fatal casualties due to Pak firing on 14, 15 or 16 November. Pak Army Chief claim of killing Indian soldiers on 14 Nov false (sic),” Northern Command of Indian Army said in a tweet. Earlier on Wednesday, Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif had claimed that his troops killed at least 11 Indian jawans on the same day when seven Pakistani soldiers were killed in retaliatory firing by Indian troops across the LoC.

He claimed that Pakistan has killed “40-44 Indian troops” in the current clashes, but the Indian army was refusing to accept and own its casualties. General Sharif said India should “show courage” and own the deaths of its security personnel. “The Indian army should man up and accept their losses,” he said.
