12 dead in riot over Quran in Ghaziabad
    By TCN Staff Reporter,

New Delhi: There is deep silence right now in the Masuri town of Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh a day after the police firing at a mob of people who were protesting against the desecration of Quran in the district. The firing claimed life of six persons from the minority community including that of one minor. Two policemen were also wounded in the fierce stone pelting by the protestors. Markets today remained closed and armed contingent of Rapid Action Force was patrolling the violence-hit area.

A team of Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind (Arshad Madani group) visited Masuri town today and met higher police officials who are camping at the Masuri police station which bore the brunt of the ire of angry protestors Friday evening. The team demanded lodging of FIR against the police for firing in which six persons were killed.

Talking to TCN Maulana Abdur Razique, Delhi state president of Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind (Arshad Madani group) who led the delegation, alleged the police opened fire directly. They did not use other methods to disperse the crowd. “When we asked the DIG as to why the police did not use lathi charge and tear gas before firing, he said they had not much time and they had to do it to save their own lives,â€￾ said Maulana Abdur Razique but he refuted the police claim saying the situation was building up since 4 pm and the police opened fire after 9 pm. There was much time for the local police to call for extra police force.

“When desecration of Quran takes place or such blasphemous acts are committed by anti-social elements, naturally Muslims get infuriated. When the people approached the police at 4 pm, rather than taking fast action they were dilly dallying for next five hours, which resulted in some losing their cool. There were thousands of people protesting against the desecration. Some of them pelted stone and burnt vehicles, in retaliation the police opened fire. They opened fire because the protestors were all Muslims,â€￾ said Maulana Razique.

He alleged that the police fired indiscriminately, so much so that a boy who was standing at the roof of his house away from the station was also killed with the police bullet. He said seven persons were killed in the firing, which police have also confirmed. However, unconfirmed news is that 12 persons were killed, he added.

Jamiat delegation demanded DIG, IG and other police officers who were camping at the site that FIR should be lodged against the policemen for firing at unarmed protestors. He also demanded Rs 25 lakh to family of each deceased. The Uttar Pradesh government, meanwhile, has announced Rs.500,000 to the families of each of the dead and an ex-gratia of Rs.50,000 and Rs.100,000 for families of the injured.

Giving details to TCN over phone, Maulana Khalid, a local cleric and member of the Jamiat delegation which met the police today said the situation in Masuri town and nearby villages is peaceful, the area is rather wearing a dead silence, people are fearing police action, markets were remained closed today and teams of Rapid Action Force were patrolling the area.

What happened on Friday evening in Masuri?
Maulana Khalid told TCN: Some school boys on way to home found torn pages of Quran near Adhyatmik Nagar railway station in Dasna – district headquarters of Ghaziabad. On the pages was written suar (Hindi word for pig) at many places. They came home in Rafeeque Nagar area in Dasna under Masuri police station and showed the pages to elders. The elders of the locality approached the local police post to file complaint. Meanwhile, the news about the desecration spread like wildfire. Some angry youths spread it through mobile phones to nearby villages and asked people to gather at Masuri police station. By 6 pm thousands of people had gathered at Masuri police station. While talks were on between the people and the police some angry youths lost their cool. They started attacking vehicles on the road. Some pelted stones on the police.

The dead have been identified as Asif, Waheed, Luckman, Amir, Wasim and Hayat. Maulana informed that autopsy was conducted on them today and they were buried in the graveyard.

The DIG told Jamiat delegation that two policemen were wounded in the stone pelting – one has injury in the leg and other on the neck.

Muslims....what do you expect of them.
If it was an exhibition of denigrated paintings of hindu symbols and if a few hindus would have disrupted the show then the whole media would have gone crazy about it.'Hindu Taliban' as they like to say it.

But surprisingly the indian sickular media is silent about this .

Shockingly, no one has come forward to show those alleged pages from Quraan to any of the law enforcing agencies. The lack of education and mob mentality boosted by the loudspeakers from Masjids is making a fool of muslims all over India. They seem to readily believe anykind of rumour without the need for varification.
