Yoga guru Ramdev on Monday asked the Centre to immediately accept his demands, even as more non-Congress parties were expected to support him in his anti-corruption crusade. He said the government would not be able to face the consequences of his satyagraha.

Talking to reporters, he said seeking justice for the nation was no crime. He thanked the Supreme Court for taking suo motu notice of the crackdown in New Delhi.

    “Not a weaknessâ€￾

He justified his act of wearing a woman's apparel while trying to flee the Ramlila maidan. “It is not a weakness to be in a woman's dress. After all, every man is born to a woman.â€￾

The baba is continuing his indefinite fast, along with about 250 followers, in the yagyashala of his Patanjali Yogpeeth.

“We will make arrangements in another hall if the number of people joining the fast increases,â€￾ an ashram worker said.

Earlier the baba held a closed-door meeting with the former Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Uma Bharti. He had met senior Congressman and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister N.D. Tiwari on Sunday.

BJP cadres burnt a symbolic effigy of the Central government in Rudraprayag, Champawat, Haldwani and a few other parts of the State.

Vigil has been increased in the State.

    Support swells

    Ahmedabad Special Correspondent reports:

Support for Ramdev has been swelling in Gujarat, with thousands of people taking out rallies in different parts of the State condemning the police action.

The rallyists also shouted anti-Congress and anti-Sonia Gandhi slogans and vowed to continue the agitation till the UPA government conceded all the demands of Baba Ramdev and the civil society at large.
