    wow.... Great move from chinese..
Maybe India should follow them and establish an air defence zone in Akasi Chin & Arunachal Pradesh and shoot down any chinese aircraft entering them.

It even gets more complicated when you get into habitable areas and unhabitable areas, for example the southern most point of Russia is about the border of Canada. Lot of areas in china are unhabitable due to deserts and mountains.

the chinese were very dumb, they did not consider the US has experience dealing with the USSR in Cuba on a similar situation, China made a mess for them selves WWIII will not be started, they won`t shot down any aircraft, they look simply dumb, they have isolated the selves too stupid what they did.

the Chinese are trying to use 19th century methods in 21st century.. Pathetic.
The actions of Chinese made India come closer with Japan. Japanese are now considering to dump their peaceful constitution and adopt a nationalist one (they have already started to strengthen their army)
India's army improvements are also focused on chinese.. The chinese are raising two powerful enemies in their neighbourhood.

It will take atleast 30 years for chinese to match US military might. But by then india will have an army capable to contain that (India's military and economic growth was slow due to policies of a liberal govt, however elections are in few months and a Nationalist is expected to win. If that happens, India will also improve its army faster)

lets see maybe by 2050 World will see Asian superpower rivals start an ''Asian Cold War''

The important point they said is "HOSTILE AIRCRAFT" thus if its something too powerful for them to handle they might not term it as HOSTILE, maybe they mean to say only Japanese aircraft as of now, and want to generalise the term and not make it more precise.. just in case.

What if the American carrier moves near the area and flies CAP over the area, would they be hostile aircraft?
Another Bluff that America might call...

    such a convincing position
not that it should matter to him

Chinese are not ones to allow sensibilities to interfere with their work.
If they are ultimately successful, then that is the direction other cultures will be pressured to move if they wish to hold their own; something to anticipate. I speculate that moral relativism will be the direction the flow of human history will lead us.

At least the Chinese have (thus far) been straightforward about their expansionist ambitions. Some states will bomb you "for your own good"; well, I think that's just adding insult to injury.

Have a gripe about the US bombers flight path and here's why. Why is the US playing into the Chinese setup? Here's what I would have done in US shoes.

    - Let the Chinese have their way screwing around and get complacent
    - Unexpectedly send a few small civilian decoy Japanese aircraft into the Chinese ADIZ
    - Stare at the ADIZ with all my radar and surveillance
    - Have my fastest and deadliest interceptors on the prowl at strike distance
    - Wait and allow the Chinese to mess with the planes and then go in BAM!

Just a couple of fat assed B52s passing thru unannounced aint that much fun.:sarcastic: You got to play the game with even better moves like a chessboard to comprehensively crush the enemy.

As much as Chinese try to ascertain their position they constantly been ignored by US, Japanese and their allies.

How much deep can Chinese go ? Can they shoot down the violators of the Airspace which they claim as theirs.... I think not. And CHinese wont dare to do that if Powers like US violates. But what we can expect them is they will make this example and try to Violate US protected Airspace in other parts of the world in future. That is what CHinese will do.
