I don't know how many GE engineers are working in the engine project but AMCA will be using F414 engines for development. The new engine will come in much later, for later prototypes. Naturally, GE is involved in the LCA program also.

GE has a very large presence in India due to the civilian aviation market.

It's a BIG claim and it's not something that has been made public as of now. That said I wouldn't be overly surprised at such news, the ADA naturally want to de-risk the AMCA development where possible and hence will find it favourable to go for a proven/matured engine (F414) that they will already be familiar with anyway (thanks to LCA MK.2), instead of going down the same risky path as with the LCA (linking of LCA and Kaveri projects). So at the very least the F414 may power some early prototypes of the AMCA.

I do, however, fully expect the Kaveri (or a derivative) to power the AMCA and I am aware that Safran have beem made aware that this is the ultimate end game as far as their work on the Kaveri is concerned.

700 engineers are hired by the GE Division in India. GE have a big profile in India.

And it does not means for the turbofan engine for military application.

You must realise that even in our Films, a man takes over 10-15minutes to die with a bullet gone thru his head. If we don't die so easily, how can you.

If we go by Indian time, then those who are not born yet will be 88 when AMCA is ready.

@Picdelamirand-oil, In India we believe in continuity. The people who thought of LCA have retired and their children took their place, Now even these people have been replaced by their children and, their children will retire while this aircraft will still be in production and trying to complete the order of 83 LCA MK1As for IAF.
This shud tell you how bright the future is for Rafale MII. You start once and while you wud have discarded Rafale from your service after 40 yrs, India will still be producing them.

Its not about faith. I am probably one of the biggest supporters of domestic tech. But can't we even share a joke?

I think Scientists at our PSU's are theoretically VERY smart. Give them money and all the tools necessary but hold them accountable, you will definitely see a sea of change.
    Our PSU's are grossly underfunded.
