In a recent clash between Indian Su-30MKIs and Pakistani F-16s, latter had fired "four to five American AMRAAMs (AIM-120 advanced medium-range air-to-air missile) from a distance of 40-50 km at the Indian aircraft including the Su-30 and the MiG-21 Bison." IAF had negated Pakistani claims of having shot down a Su-30MKI in the engagement. Even if true, that claim would give Pk of 20-25%, nowhere close to 50-90% often claimed. Historically the attacker's claims were typically significantly overstated, so there is no reason to believe Pakistani claims.

In February, Pakistani F-16 had been shot down by Indian MiG-21, confirmed by both sides.

EDIT: Missile used was AIM-120-C5. Multiple launches were "conclusively observed". Su-30 had spoofed a number of AMRAAM missiles.

F-16 and Mig 21 Bison both shown great potential given Bison over 50 years with defence force nearly retirement,I suppose latest F-16’s were given tough time within combat mission. It also showed the mig’s has been better rated with it’s capacity and capability.

Yes as presented byt he IAF the Su-30s' countermeasures disabled the PAF package munitions. Actually had Wing Cdr Abhi's wingman not turned cold, then that MiG-21 Bison which was carrying the jammer pod would have done the same. When the F16 AMRAAM had locked-on to the MiG-21Bison the RWR should have automatically issued an audio warning about immediate danger & the chaff countermeasures dispensing system would have been activated.

It is said that MKI used a series of jamming measures and its agility to break the missiles lock.

I personaally beleive aimraams C5 werent launch at 50-60km distance towards Su 30mki ,as su 30mki would have launched R77 by that distance towards them ,I think PAF jets must have detected SU30mki from quite a distance and launched it from greater than 90km range towards SU 30mki .But Su 30mki thanks to it's advanced RWR ,MWS , electronic jammimg suites and superior pilot's skill (missile dodging evasive maneuveurs) managed to dodge them .
Had the IAF sukhoi's got metoer like bvraams that scenario would have been different
