When Team Anna was in jail, Justice Santosh Hegde kept the flame burning

It was former Karnataka Lok Ayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde who stood up to be counted and take charge in Bangalore when the frontline leaders in the war against corruption, Anna Hazare, Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal, were arrested by the Delhi police.

In a spirited speech, Hegde exhorted the youth to carry on the anti-corruption agitation till the government bends backwards to give India her anti-corruption law. He urged the youth to join politics but to refrain from earning the title of “chor politician”.

Hedge launched the three-day protest at Bangalore’s Freedom Park exactly at 8.45am on Tuesday by expressing his strong views against Anna Hazare’s arrest, hoping to intensify the agitation. And it worked.

He said: “Is he a terrorist that the government detains him? This is murder of democracy! The government has not learnt its lessons from the 1975 incidents (the dreaded Emergency era). Anna has been detained even before he could stage a protest and speak against the government. This proves how scared the government is of him.

When DNA asked him whether the agitation has intensified because Anna was detained even before expressing himself, he replied, “Of course! People are even more agitated with the government. This has definitely intensified and irked the whole country.”

On whether BJP would have let this happen to Anna had it been in power, Hegde said: “BJP could have put forward the bill during its regime. Why did BJP not do it then?”

He said, “Democracy, in India had become ‘for the elected, of the elected and by the elected’. The elected representatives have throttled democracy and its meaning and existence. They have forgotten that they are the public servants and not the kings of the citizens who have elected them.”

Citing the example of Congress spokesman Manish Tiwari, Hegde said the former had barged into one of the meetings of the Jan Lokpal Bill drafting committee and asked “Who are you? Have you come to advice Parliament? What are your jurisdictions?”

Hegde said, “I thought he (Tiwari) was a lawyer. How could he then ask this question? Should we tolerate such an elected representative?”

The youthful crowd was visibly impressed by the spirited exhortation of the man who fought corruption tooth-and-nail as Karnataka Lokayukta.

In Morning, Congress directed Delhi police to arrest Anna and it's team without any reason. After 8-10 hours, now Congress is allowing Anna and it's team to leave Tihar Jail. Humiliation at it's best!

Now, Anna is asking for written proof of JP park with complete freedom.

Now, If Congress doesn't allow, By tomorrow expect 1,00,000 People in front of Tihar Jail
If Allow, Still Expect 1,00,000 people in JP Park.

In Both Case, Congress will face the music.

    Huge Support Nationwide.

Another Big Blunder by Congress.

A different law applies to Rahul Baba?

NEW DELHI: Criticism of Anna Hazare's movement backfired on the government when Cabinet ministers were asked at a briefing if there was one set of standards for Congress scion Rahul Gandhi and another for the Gandhian.

Rahul had violated Section 144 of CrPC in Uttar Pradesh when he visited the villages of Bhatta-Parsaul earlier this year. The move was not just supported by the Congress but was positioned as the party lending its voice to the 'aam aadmi'. Now, by calling Hazare's protest unconstitutional and unparliamentary, the party has put itself in a difficult position.

Offering an explanation to the question, home minister P Chidambaram said Rahul was externed and brought back to Delhi in accordance with law.
