Exactly. Controlled, beneficial immigration in sensible quantities is fine but mass low income migration only drags down the standard of public services and stacks up the job queue and deficit.

It sounds good in theory, but the uber-rich have an almost infinite numbers of ways of avoiding any tax directed at them

Well make up your mind, you want the EU but not the consequences of it, which is mass, low income migration from poorer nations. Left to its own devices, the EU will eventually include those places you mention, and then you won't be able to leave, because they will all be voting in the next referendum come circa 2040-2050.

Tax evasion is the reason why they want to do away with income tax and introduce a banking levy. So large sums of money will be taxed by 2% for a transaction or so and there's no way the uber rich can avoid that since they cannot live without the banking sector. Corporate taxes are a hilarious 40%, so all the companies are laundering money.

Britain will also have to change with times.

They'll move the banking off-shore, which just means your banks lose capital. High corporate tax drives businesses overseas. The problem with tax avoidance is that you need to get the world to agree on how to stop it, which is no easy task.

Yes, roughly 400,000 per year is EU immigration, 9 tenths of which earns less than 60% of the national average and therefore doesn't pay enough in tax and national insurance to justify their presence. Net migration should be under 100,000 per year, that was the mandate the current government was elected on and it cannot achieve that inside the EU.

That won't work, moving banking offshore. A lot of transactions require Indian banks. Basically, if they want to move to offshore banking they can do that, but they have to move that entire money to offshore sites first, and that will be taxed anyway. And if they bring money in, it will get taxed again, making the entire circus pointless.
