Anti-India rally: Take tough action against separatists, Rajnath tells Sayeed

Supporters wave Pakistani flags during the rally of Syed Ali Shah Geelani in Srinagar on Wednesday. Photo: PTI.Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday night spoke to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on the issue of anti-India rally held at Lal Chowk in Srinagar. He has asked the CM to take tough and immediate action against the separatists.

The chief minister briefed Singh about what happened at the rally and the situation there, official sources said.

Singh told Sayeed that "any step which can be termed as anti-national cannot be tolerated," they said.

The home minister directed that "strictest possible action should be taken against those involved in it."

Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday registered a case against Masarat Alam under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

Alam was present at a rally held in the outskirts of Srinagar city with hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani on April 15, shouting pro-Pakistan slogans while others waved Pakistani flags.

Geelani, who returned after spending the winter months in Delhi, was taken to his residence from the airport in a procession led by Alam, who official sources said, is likely to be arrested, reports PTI.

Alam, who was released last month soon after PDP-BJP government came to power in the state, led the march from the Srinagar Airport to Geelani's residence at Hyderpora.

Geelani, who broke away from Hurriyat Conference to form his own conglomerate with all pro-Pakistan separatist parties as a part of it, spoke about right of self-determination and his speech was broadcast live in Muzzafarabad in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK).

    Not really
IT is very true term for these people that the grass looks greener on the other side. Pakistani economy is in dumps and they want to have direct business with India. and these jokers want to be with Pakistan who wants to do business with India? It is like a kid fighting with his dad and leave family business and then goes an joins a small company whose main business is with this kids family business, and the owner of the small business wants to use this kid to get better terms from the big company.

Consider the big floods in Kashmir, India was able to handle it much better on our side of the border as compared to Pakistani govt on POK

Disband these ghettos wherever they are. They can believe what they want but we are free to move where we please in our home.

Focus on investing in housing and business projects to flood population of Hindus and other sane Indian citizens to live and work into these communities en masse.

This is the most humane way of dealing with this sort of extremism. The citizens of India can exercise their own right to live where they please, and local government must enforce the right of every child to receive a competent education.

Dilute the community, disband religious schools, build a temple beside every mosque, require children from all communities to attend the same secular schools and invest their time learning from the same national curriculum.

Disallow face coverings in certain public spaces, as the French have. As they become used to the requirements, expand that space. Enforce against proselytization.

Encourage them to work with Hindus and other communities, invite them to participate in patriotic events, assign benefits according to civic participation and adherence to family planning initiatives.
Make patriotism, integration, tolerance attractive options for them.

Let them bomb this or that, if they do we can transplant twice as much housing and jobs and security.

For those among them that still cannot be convinced, offer them dedicated transport to Pakistan, free of charge, in exchange for tearing up all citizenship docs.

All that matters is the 'holy' prophet. And Israel shows the way how to deal with the unholy.

‘Don’t Make LoC Permanent, We Want to be in India’

Kashmiri separatist Masarat Alam, who was spotted raising Pakistan flag in Srinagar on Wednesday, may not have heard about Senge Hasnan Sering, a ‘rights defender’ from Gilgit Baltistan in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) on the other side of Line of Control (LoC). He needs to learn from the president of Institute of Gilgit Baltistan Studies (IGBS) some lessons on attachment towards India.
Sering, who is fighting against Islamabad’s atrocities against the people of mineral rich Gilgit Baltistan, is a strong advocate of the region’s merger with India. His only regret is that neither Indian government nor the people of India are seriously interested in the merger.
“There is a feeling in Gilgit Baltistan that the region should get the status of an independent country. In an indirect way, India is responsible for this feeling. We want to be a part of India but the Indian government is mulling making the LoC an international border,” Sering said. Born in Skardu in Gilgit, Sering completed his studies in Pakistan before securing US citizenship in 2008. Headquartered in Washington DC, the IGBS works for the betterment of the people from Gilgit Baltistan, an Indian territory forcibly occupied by Pakistan since 1947. During his one-month-long tour to India, Sering was in the city on Thursday.
“Pakistan treats Gilgit Baltistan as its colony. We don’t have any facility for higher education. As Pakistan has announced that it is a disputed area, we are not citizens of Pakistan. The region is run as per the executive orders by Pakistan’s Minister of Kashmir Affairs. Even if someone raises his voice for legitimate demands, he is imprisoned on sedition charges,” Sering said.
Now, his immediate goal is to attract the world’s attention towards ‘illegal’ elections to be held in Gilgit Baltistan in June.
