The Turkish company Roketsan will soon sign new agreements with Azerbaijan on the delivery of modern missile systems, Oxu.Az reports citing haqqin.az.
Deliveries of the newest weapons of Roketsan production to Azerbaijan will be continued next year, the company representative said, without mentioning, however, the amount of the contract.

Meanwhile, as it became known, Azerbaijan became interested in small and medium-range cruise missiles SOM-A, which are equipped with an integrated navigation system with GPS, as well as a navigation system for TRN (Terrain Reference Navigation).

In addition, Kasirga rocket launchers (MLRS) are being purchased. They are designed to strike at targets deep in the enemy's defense, including military bases, concentration sites, rocket launcher launchers, airports and transport hubs, administrative and industrial centers .

A battery volley of 6-9 launchers provides the detonation of 24-36 powerful fragmentation warheads, which ensures the guaranteed destruction of manpower in a circle with a radius of a kilometer.

Turkey has completed the supply of artillery systems T-300 Kasirga (Hurricane) to Azerbaijan, Turkish weapons manufacturer and defense contractor ROKETSAN announced about this on September 20.

In addition to the completion of the artillery systems’ supply to the country, special courses have been conducted for the personnel that will service these missile systems.

Т-300 Kasirga is a tactical weapon system used in artillery units which fulfills its fire support mission by indirect/blind firing against area targets, during day and night and in all weather conditions.

Typical Kasirga battery is composed of a Command and Control Vehicle, 6-9 launcher vehicles (F-302T) and 6-9 resupply and reloading vehicles, all based on German MAN (6×6) 26.372 10t cross-country truck chassis. Each launcher vehicle has four cylindrical tubes for the TR-300 rocket. Each 302 mm rocket is 4.7 meters in length, weighs approx. 524 kg and is provided with 150kg of cluster munitions to take out a variety of targets such as fortifications, infrastructures, armored vehicles, etc. A single artillery system can get ready-to-fire within 20 minutes.

T-300 Kasirga has chassis of MAN vehicle.

Most importantly, Armenia shares an approximately 165 mile border with Turkey, a NATO member and the alliance’s southern flank.
Russia signed a sweeping air defense agreement with Armenia.
Over the last six months — as Russia’s war in Syria and pressure on Turkey has intensified — the flow of its arms and personnel into Armenia has escalated to include advanced Navodchik-2 and Takhion UAV drone aircrafts, Mi-24 helicopter gunships and Iskander-M ballistic missiles.

Russia began a massive military exercise in its “southwestern strategic direction,” which includes Armenia. The total strength of the regional operation included approximately 8,500 troops, 900 ground artillery pieces, 200 warplanes and 50 warships.

The 102nd Military Base in Gyumri, Armenia — nearly 120 kilometers from the capital (and less than 10 kilometers from the Turkish border) — has become a crucial Russian beachhead.

Armenia borders three critical U.S. allies: Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey. Russian forces currently occupy Georgian territory.
