Pakistan's reaction to US Congressional hearing: Tortured and bullet-ridden body of B

Occupied Balochistan: The brutally tortured and riddled with bullets body of a BRP leader was found today morning, on 13 February 2012, near Murghaap area of Turbat, Balochistan.

Sana Sangat, former Vice Chairperson of Baloch Student Organisation (Azad), was abducted by Pakistani intelligence agency on December 7, 2009, from Kolpure area of Bolan District, some 50 kilometres from Quetta. His whereabouts remained unknown till today.

Sangat Sana Baloch was a member of the Central Committee of Nawabzada Brahumdagh Bugti’s party, the Baloch Republican Party (BRP).

According to Eye-witnesses’ Mr Baloch’s body bore signs of extreme torture and bullet wounds. His stomach was ripped and intestines were taken out which illustrates the savageness of Pakistan’s so called Islamic army.

Baloch activists and leaders are of the opinion that US Congressional Hearing on Balochistan has irritated Pakistan and her security agencies, presumably, once again want to accelerate kill and dump policy in Balochistan.

Pakistan’s kill and dump policy towards Baloch nation continues without any hinder and with International impunity. Although, the Baloch political leaders appreciated the US congressional hearing on Balochistan but they say the US, UN and other International powers must take practical steps to stop Baloch Genocide at the hand of Iran and Pakistan before it is too late.

Relatives of abducted Baloch protest in front of Karachi Press Club, urge international intervention in Balochistan

Karachi: The Baloch Human Rights Organisation (BHRO) organised a protest demonstration in front of Karachi Press Club to highlight the abductions of Baloch activists by Pakistani security agencies.

According to details the relatives of abducted Baloch activists have held a protest demonstration to demand the immediate and safe recovery of their loved ones. A large number of women and children participated in the protest and chanted slogans against Pakistani security agencies. They were holding the pictures of their loved ones and shouted the name of each abducted Baloch to demand their releases. The demonstrators were also carrying banners of the pictures of Baloch victims of Pakistan’s kill and dump policy.

Addressing the gathering the relatives of Baloch abducted persons and the leaders of BHRO said that at present over 14000 Baloch were being held by Pakistan security agencies at their secret prison cells. They said even though the chief justice of Pakistan has initiated hearing Baloch cases but the powerful and notorious Pakistani intelligence agencies think they are not accountable before anyone. They said that the helplessness of the court is obvious in case of Zakir Majeed Baloch and Dr Deen Mohammad Baloch because the Supreme Court had asked the security agencies to produce these two Baloch leaders before the court but they have not been recovered and presented yet.

Zakir Majeed Baloch, senior vice chairperson of BSO-Azad was abducted on 9 June 2009 from Mastung region of Balochistan whereas Dr Deen Mohammad Baloch was abducted on 28 June 2009 from his official residence in Ornach area of Khuzdar.

The chief justice had also asked the security agencies and police to produce Hafiz Saeed-ul-Rehman Baloch who was abducted on 7 April 2003. He too has not yet been recovered and presented to the court.

Citing another example of the judiciary’s helplessness the leaders of BHRO said that on the day when Chief Justice started hearing Baloch cases, two Baloch activists were killed and dumped in Mastung whereas several dozen people had been arrested from Kohlu, Barkhan and Dera Bugti districts of Balochistan.

It is to be noted that at least eight abducted Baloch have been killed under-custody and their bodies were dumped in different areas of Balochistan since the chief justice has started hearings in Balochistan. The abduction and military offensives are also continuing in Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Mashky and other regions of Balochistan. The chief justice so far has only been able to trace 11 abducted Baloch out of 14000. However, the recovery of 11 abducted Baloch from security agencies custody proves that the rest of the Baloch activists are also being held by the security agencies i.e. Military Intelligences, ISI, FC and others. The recovery of abducted Baloch also exposes the lies of Rehman Malik that Baloch abducted person had gone abroad for work purpose.

The leaders of BHRO expressed their dissatisfaction with Pakistani judiciary and said that the on-going human rights violations in Balochistan prove that the judiciary held no value and power in Pakistan. They said that the family members of abducted Baloch were being harassed and receiving threats from security agencies for holding protests to demand the safe release of their loved ones. They security agencies of Pakistan have also been demanding ransom from the families of abducted Baloch in return of the releases and recovery their loved one. The BHRO leaders said that several reputable Human Rights Organisations in their intensive reports have pointed out that Pakistani security agencies were involved in human rights violations in Balochistan and carry our Baloch massacre by continuing the kill and dump policy in Balochistan.

The Baloch Human Rights Organisation leaders said that military operations, tortures, abduction and killing of Baloch activists have become the norm of the day of Pakistani security forces in Balochistan. The participants of the demonstration have urged the International Human Rights Organisations, the UN, European Union other democratic countries around the world to break their silence and raise voice against Baloch Genocide and save the Balochistan from a human catastrophic tragedy.

They urged the international Human Rights bodies, International Media and all democratic forces around the world to send their fact finding mission in Balochistan to observe Balochistan situation. They demanded the International support to Pakistan should be conditioned to improvement of human rights in accordance with International laws.
