Barak ABISR QR-SAM

    And it can also use EL/M-2106 radar so that creates some commonality in the AD support network still.

    So basically it is going to replace older gen and bulky Akash SAMs?

    This system appears to be inferior to SPYDER as a QRSAM.

    Rather, DRDO's Astra based QRSAM will be a better option.

    The present one is SPYDER MR version.

    Akash is a very cheap and hugely reliable SAM. It is not going anywhere.

    QR SAM , SR SAM,Self propelled VSHORADS , MANPADS , are not going to replace Akash , they would complement it.

    The P15A/B have space for 3 ULVM cells , out of which 2 are utilised , and space for 8 Barak 8 VLS modules , out of which 4 are used.
