Narendra Modi is Bihar's choice for PM: Poll

    BJP preferred for Centre

The LensOnNews poll also sought the opinions of Bihar voters on the performance of the UPA government at the Centre and their voting intention if the Lok Sabha elections were held now. As many as 41 per cent rate the performance of PM Manmohan Singh’s government at the Centre as ‘Poor’ against only 23 per cent who feel it has been ‘Good’.

The biggest failure of the Central government has been the runaway increase in prices according to 62 per cent of the respondents, with the issue of corruption taking a distant second place (only 11 per cent say it has been the biggest failure of the government).

Not surprisingly, 68 per cent would like a change of government at the Centre in the next Lok Sabha elections, with only 24 per cent saying the present UPA government should continue.

Asked which party, in their opinion, would give the best government at the Centre, 50 per cent picked the BJP while only 23 per cent plumped for the Congress. And if elections to the Lok Sabha were held now, 34 per cent say they would vote for the BJP, while 18 per cent pick the JD (U). Lalu Prasad’s RJD is at 15 per cent, with the Congress coming in fourth at a low 12 per cent.

    What if...?

Thus the present NDA alliance of BJP-JD(U) is poised to sweep the next Lok Sabha elections in Bihar – if the two parties stay together till then, which is a big IF. Nitish Kumar is clearly straining at the leash. He has not only been making demands for a PM candidate being ‘acceptable’ to him, he has also been making open overtures to the UPA, as witness his support to Pranab Mukherjee’s candidature for President and his wangling a special fiscal package for Bihar from the Central government. There is a strong likelihood of a JD(U) split from the NDA before the next Lok Sabha elections, if not sooner.

The LensOnNews survey therefore asked the contingent question: Which party would you vote for in the next elections if Narendra Modi is BJP’s candidate and the JD(U) fights the elections separately? Here the BJP leads the field with a 38 per cent vote, with JD(U) next with 16 per cent, the RJD getting 12 per cent and the Congress 11 per cent.

Clearly the BJP as a national party is favoured by the Bihar electorate in elections to the Lok Sabha, even while they give strong support to the JD(U) at the state level.

What if Nitish Kumar joins the UPA and fights the next Lok Sabha elections alongside Congress and against the BJP? Our findings show that the JD (U)-Congress combine would trail the BJP’s 38 per cent vote share by a wide margin as the combined vote share of JD (U) and Congress adds up to only 27 per cent (16 per cent of JD (U), 11 per cent of Congress).

The LensOnNews poll was carried out between June 21 and 27 among a representative cross-sectional sample of 2147 voters spread across nine assembly constituencies in Bihar. The poll findings carry a margin of error of 3 percentage points.

    ***
If NDA remains intact in Bihar, it will sweep the polls, all other parties will be wiped out.

MR BALAKRISHNAN has a knack of being correct.

The same group Conducted a survey during UP Assembly polls too and was right on money in predicting that SP will get Majority while BJP will get around 60 seats.

One thing is very certain from this survey and all other survey that we have seen recently, that this country favors a change in government,Congress has a very Limited life in the center Now.

Another thing that this survey has shown is in Bihar Majority of People favor Modi for PM Candidate than Nitish.Nitish Kumar don't stand even a slightest chance to be a PM candidate for NDA and he just can't force BJP into having a PM Candidate that suit him.He can break the alliance to keep his secular Image, but that will be his loss.

I once again suggest that BJP must break the alliance with JDU right now. Force JDU to declare its cards by joining hands with congress and breaking the BJP. Bihar does not have effective opposition now. This void needs to be filled. BJP can become a very effective opposition to JDU now and than can become a replacement for JDU to form a govt in Bihar all by itself in 2014. This politics of alliances must give way to two party system starting from states to national level again. For that to happen, BJP must fight alone in as many states as possible. BJP must look to expand base by merging smaller regional parties like TRS, AGP in itself rather than form alliances with them.

I am sure that if NItish walks out, BJP is going to engineer a split in JDU. Then see it, why wait till 2014? Forty-45 MLAs walking out and supporting a BJP govt.

In another thread I told this all is just a plaan to get more funds from government... Nothing else. you get the fund and do the development, then use it as a poster in coming election. Nitish has very good Idea that he is in power because of BJP and a lot of BJP supporters who voted for him in assembly election alone he can't win in Bihar and for center he will not get railways if he will join UPA and UPA came into power... its only BJP which will provide Railways and defense like department to allies.. rest easy guys nothing is going to happen it is just like getting more supporters by fighting each other and then converting them into firm supporters..

NDA will make a sweep in Bihar, Panjab, Rajsthan and Gujrat for sure and in other states it will gain good seats. the will get 272 seats there... with ADMK and navin patnayak, Telgudesham, on way to be allies it is gaining power nd when you gain power some noises are bound to be made to stop people from noticing it.

PS:- just because of this drama BJP will say that they are not for communal rites and Modi will emphasis on development and economy more then anything else. NDA will gain more secular votes bu this

Sharad Yadav is NDA chairperson like Sonia Gandhi is UPA chairperson.
Sharad Yadav may not have same control over allies unlike Sonia Gandhi but JD(U) simply cannot leave NDA.
Bjp as of late has started a worriesome trend of allying with muslim parties.
In Nagpur municipality which is RSS HQ's bjp and muslim league are ruling corporation in alliance.

Advani is going to be the Vibhishna for BJP. He must be completely sidelined and sent into sanyas. he should be asked to layoff and BJP must stop having meetings in his house. This is the guy behind JDU talking s**t and Keshubhai starting what he did. I had earlier posted that JDU had no problem vd Advani as PM candidate who is charged for demolishing babri dhancha and who divided the whole nation on communal lines by his rath yatras in 1992. RSS must step in and tell this old fa*t to shut up and pack up.

He may have screwed up in the end by becoming a Jinnah fan but his rath yatra's did result in babri being removed, ayodhya being cleaned and a makeshift mandir being constructed.
That gave birth to the BJP.

We all retire and come to this world with an expiry date. Advani is past that expiry date. he did his bit and will be remembered for that. Why the hell does he want that people remember him not as a person who created BJP but as a person who destroyed BJP?

To destroy bjp one has to first destroy a 5000 year old religion
