Still they sell shitty and flawed designed models like Mi 8.
And we happily buy them like fools

    Because .....Ours are not safe

We don't buy Mi-8's, we buy Mi-17v5's. Massive difference. And the Mi-8/17 family is hardly a shitty helicopter, that helicopter has arguably served more air forces for more years than any helicopter in history. And it's clearly been a massive success. It's the backbone of India's helicopter force and has served us quite well.

So I don't really see what the issue is here.

Also, I'm pretty sure our VVIP's currently fly in Mi-17's due to the whole Agusta scam and subsequent grounding of those helicopters.

That's great then, I'd always heard they were a bit too heavy for the role, but if that's true then there's no excuse to keep flying Alouettes. We should immediately begin replacing them with Dhruv's.

What the hell is your problem exactly? WTF are you coming on so aggressive for, have a bad day lmfao? I said what I've been hearing for years. Otherwise why the hell are Alouettes still operational until now, why didn't they immediately phase them out and start using Dhruv's there too?

Don't make this nasty for no reason, or I'll engage you the way you engage me.

Hey Genius, we began phasing out our Mi-8's ages ago. We've been moving exclusively towards the far more advanced Mi-17, and for several years now whenever we buy a helicopter from that family it's a far more advanced version; the last several batches for example have been Mi-17v5's.

If you don't get the difference, go read up, before coming here and starting an unnecessarily aggressive argument/fight with me over nothing.

Also, I have no clue where your anger and aggression issues spout from. For example, you first opened fire on me about the service records of Su's and Mig's (which had ZERO relevance to my posts) and then you aggressively attacked Mil helicopters which are arguably the most in service and successful helicopter company (And specifically the widely used and successful Mi8/17 models).

No clue what set you off. As for your quote in this post about the "Shitty" Dhruv, I have no clue where you got that term from, I don't ever remember calling the Dhruv "Shitty," you were the one using that word for Mi-8's. Not me. So calm the hell down.

The requirement is for a three tonne, single engine helicopter.

It's not really one person who told me that, I read things along those lines on other forumns for several years, whenever I asked people why we still used Alouettes if we had begun making light helicopters, they said we were still working on LUH's for that role and that Dhruv's were apparently "too heavy."

    So that's what I believed.

If Dhruvs can do everything Alouettes can without any safety issues (espc in Siachen), I would say we should already begin plugging Dhruvs into the role that Alouettes play, and retire the Alouettes immediately.
