I've been anonymous browsing this forum for a long time before I joined the forum. There are so many similar debates in this forum. You are a genius! you are right, even if “All of 12 messages in 2 months” that's enough to make me involved in the argument, the frequency is indeed high! Join this forum, I'd like to know some information about military equipment of your country and I also wonder what Indian views about China. By the way,it took me only a few minutes to register in the forum and I did not feel any " bother ".

The Type 055 destroyer (NATO code name Renhai[10]) is a class of guided missile destroyers being constructed by indigenous efforts for the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy Surface Force. The multi-role destroyer is designed for air defense, anti-missile, anti-ship and anti-submarine warfare.[8][11][12] The sea platform is expected to play an instrumental role in China's future carrier strike formations, and the vessel is one of the first among Chinese surface combatants capable of land attack missions.[3][13]

The class features a stealth design, including a small radar cross section and low noise, infrared and electromagnetic radiation.[11] With advanced active phased array radar system and battle management system, the Type 055 destroyer will form China's anti-missile system together with the 052D destroyer, serving as part of the so-called Chinese Aegis.[14]

    Development
In April 2014, images showed a full-scale mock-up of the superstructure of a warship being erected at the Chinese naval electronic testing range in Wuhan. The mock-up featured an enclosed integrated mast for radar and other electronics.[9][15] Observers have concluded the shore-based facility was for a new class of Chinese warship, displacing approximately 10,000 tons referred to as the Type 055.[16] In 2015, the U.S. believed that construction could begin as early as 2016, and has tentatively classified it as a cruiser due to its size.[17][18] Chinese sources claimed the first Type 055 was ordered from the Jiangnan Shipyard in August 2014, with construction starting in December 2014; the second would be ordered from the Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company.[9]

In 2015, military analyst Li Li claimed the Type 055 would have two 64-cell VLS grids (one fore and one aft) carrying YJ-100 long-range anti-ship cruise missiles, anti-submarine missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.[19] The United States believes the ship would carry YJ-18 anti-ship cruise missiles.[20] The ships' vertical launch cells are the same model as those used on Type 052D, compatible with both hot and cold launch methods due to the Concentric Canister Launcher (CCL) concept.[2] In 2013, Richard Fisher speculated that, if Chinese development was extrapolated, the Type 055 might be the first Chinese warship to mount laser weapons.[21] Potentially owing to Chinese deficiencies in anti-submarine warfare (ASW), the ship is expected to carry various undersea warfare systems such as towed array sonar, variable depth sonar, towed torpedo decoys, and active torpedo defenses.[22]

In an interview in 2015, Rear Admiral Yin Zhuo countered Western media claims that the Type 055 represented a 'game changer in naval warfare'. He regarded the Type 055 as equivalent to the U.S Arleigh Burke-class destroyer and the emphasis of its estimated 10,000-ton displacement was exaggerated; the existing Japanese Atago-class destroyer is over 9,000 tons, the American Zumwalt-class destroyer is over 12,000 tons, and the Russian Udaloy-class destroyer is over 8,000 tons. Further stated that if the Type 055 were to mount laser weapons or electromagnetic railguns, the ship would require integrated electric propulsion to meet their power requirements.[23]While there has been speculation that the Type 055 may have ABM capabilities like USN Baseline 9 destroyers, it likely does not because of China's lack of overseas military bases requiring a naval-based missile shield, since ballistic missile threats from regional countries would be more effectively countered by ground-based means.[2]

The first ship was launched on the morning of 28 June 2017 at the Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai.[6]

Size is nodoubt bigger but what is the advancement in technology? Does it have anything comparable to Kolkata class MF Star RADAR, LRSAM, HUMSA, Torpedo decoy, Camouflage , Brahmos etc? China can certainly build big but can not bring quality on any product. None of chinese warship can match sophistication and battlefield management system on Kolkatta class. I believe that it will be a bigger version Type 52 D and shall carry some more weapons and that is it. It can never match Kolkatta class in electronics and weapon and protection. Kolkatta class shall carry 600 KM range Brahmos by 2017 end and 800 KM range vertical dive Brahmos by 2019 against which type 55 can not protect itself.

Chinese type 055 destroyer outclasses the American Navy Arleigh Burke class destroyer Flight II or even Flight III, let alone your Indian outdated Kolkatta class.

How does it out class without dated technologies? Please explain. This is same as J 20 is F 22 killer. Your type 55D can not withstand even a single stroke of Brahmos. It will break in pieces evenif we fire Brahmos without warhead.
