    A quality picture (relatively speaking)

"If the photo is real (almost is), adding on what I read elsewhere, then

    1. the head and the neck: like F-22A. They said (Chinese bbs) it's smaller and shorter. But imo it's somehow bigger?

    2. the tail fins: more like those of F-117; a bit like F-22; but far from T-50 and F-35.

    3. the belly: like F-22.

    4. the air intake: not DSI, but S - air intake (? will someone explain it to me what is S intake ?) ; seems different from T-50 intakes. Some say (so called "eyewitnesses") it looks like a cross btw F-22 and Rafale.

    5. the body length to me is longer than F-22

    6. the body shape (backside) resembles that of J-10A, long , thin, smooth, without humps

    7. with canards, which are located far away from the blended wings.

    8. tail end: very different from T-50. 2 engines are closer to each other - more like F-22.

    9. wing shape: diamond like, blended though (the result of China's own wind tunnel and supercomputer simulation?) , trending backwards, different from those of F-22 and T-50 which are more triangular, also different from that of F-35."

Note: Thank you to "Speeder 2" for the analysis.

Don't you think the Insignia looks like a Russian star insignia???
The Chinese one has two distinct stripes......

    PLA August 1st Insignia

Until a clearer picture emerges, it cannot be proven that there is an 8-1 (i.e. August 1st; founding of PLA in 1927) written inside the red star.

Compare size of the red stars

The Russian red star is tiny. The Chinese red star is huge to enable the writing of Chinese numerical characters "eight" and "one" inside.

As someone else said, the Russians already have a fifth-generation fighter program underway. They are not going to build another one.

    Ok...
    Good you clarified
Why do they write "eight" and "one"? aircraft number or some thing??(Sort of like the T-50-1,2)

    PLA insignia

All Chinese military branches have August 1st (i.e. the founding of the PLA on August 1, 1927) on their flag. See People's Liberation Army - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On a prestige project like the fifth-generation stealth fighter, it is logical to expect the military to put August 1st within the red star on the plane.

PLA shoulder insignia (e.g. "eight" is the top character and "one" is the single horizontal stroke below it)

I can't help get the feeling that this is indeed the real deal this time around. Too bad we won't get official release until there already a few squadrons of this beauty in service. However I'm sure there will be a bunch of brave young wall climbers who will supply us with high def pictures during that period.
