    Chinese Now have started crying

Chinese troops injured by Indian border troops' fierce action: foreign ministry
    Source:Xinhua Published: 2017/8/21 21:40:40

Some Chinese troops suffered injuries from Indian troops' fierce action in the western part of the border area, the Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed Monday.

This came after a video showing border troops from the two countries pushing and throwing stones at one another near Pangong Lake.

Last Tuesday, Indian border troops obstructed Chinese border troops, who were carrying out normal patrols on the Chinese side of the actual line of control in the Pangong lake area, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said at a daily briefing.

Hua noted some Chinese were injured after the Indian side "took fierce actions, collided with the Chinese and physically fought with them."

The Indian troops' actions went against the two countries' consensus to keep peace on the border and endangered the situation in the western part of the China-India border, she said.

Hua stressed China is extremely dissatisfied and had lodged solemn representations.

China has urged India to conform to relevant agreements and restrict its border troops' activities to maintain peace and stability in the border area.

This is not a world-wide travel contest. For sure I would be in the top three. Forget your single digit count.

    Ok.

So here is the general over view of the situation on the ground. I have tried to get it as accurate as possible without breaking any official secrets :D. Errors, if any, are deeply regretted and pointing out the same will be appreciated.

    PT1.PNG

The figure above is meant to indicate the situation as on ground. Typical to Indian actions over the past few decades, we have lost territory in the region due to successive governments asking the troops to disengage. As you can see, the oval marking indicated the area of confrontation and is well within Indian claimed territory. The paradox starts subsequently:

    PT2.PNG

The image depicts the Chinese Black Top road made across the IB, with a camp being set up well within the IB. The distance of the camp from IB is about 500-700 meters as the crow flies. As per the publicly available records, a flat top road ingressing 5 kms into Indian territory (they do not mention 'as the crow flies' for obvious reasons) has been constructed by the Chinese. The same is marked in black in figure above.

    PT3.PNG

The blow up of the area subsequent and in continuation in a westerly direction to the image at 2 to show the situation and the extent of the Black Top road. it is more like 7-8 Kms as the crow flies as far as I can make out from the Goggle maps. The cover-up by Indian authorities begins.

    PT4.PNG

The image represents the approximate area of confrontation. The arrow in blue depicts the direction and not actual position of ITBP troops and the arrow in Red, those of the Chinese.

The rectangular marking depicts the exact region of the confrontation. As can be seen in the video, the troops in the far end are the troops coming from southern direction and those in the near end are from a northern alignment (the dark uniforms).

    nope.

that means that we have merely stopped their westward move at 7-8 kms inside indian territory.

Earlier air support was done for Chushul (due south) but with creeping Chinese moves into Indian territory, they have since stopped.

In short, successive governments, be it Congress or BJP, have allowed Chinese in.

As it is said, it is time for members here and the people of India in general to wake up and smell the fart .. er .. coffee!

I think that after this incident of stone pelting, Indian and Chinese security forces will be extremely alert and will have solid backup plans to trap the Chinese and pay them back

How exactly? You can be rest assured that the territory they already have physically occupied, will not be taken back. In short, Indian being Indians will chicken out just as soon as another party comes in power.

By the ways, the armed forces had expectations of the present leadership, especially Modi. But he has ended up giving an impression of being anti-armed forces amongst the armed forces. Because of the very same fact that his tall promises of modernization remain just that - promises. Year after year, not only are the armed forces losing their edge, but in places are lagging far behind than a single adversary let alone two fronts.

The single vendor cold feet syndrome was inherited by the present dispensation and the earlier incumbent was equally pussy footed on the issue of acquisition on single vendor situation as the one he replaced with change in regime.

Yet look at threads here, one after the other signifying armed forces bashing for delay in acquisition. The only problem is that they can not defend themselves or tell the nation how the government that the stupid Indians vote spends thousands of crores on populist black hole measures and are quietly ceding territory in thousands of square kilometers to Chinese as we are too hollow to fight.

    @Sweet-detention

Tagged you to draw your attention here. Maybe it is the time for Indians to wake up to the propaganda which is being fed day in and day out.

This is what Indians are taught and believe

@Hellfire , sorry for going off topic here, but I couldn't find any dedicated thread on India-Nepal relations, so I am asking my question here.

What is the state of the Indo-Nepali relationship currently? It seems like over the years Nepal has slowly moved out of the India orbit, and to a degree has even gotten closer to China, and they definitely don't seem to have the sort of good relations with us that Bhutan does.

Is Nepal now neutral, or even in the Chinese camp at this point? And how are Indo-Nepali ties currently progressing, especially after the whole problem with the Madhesi protests and resulting blockade situation (which seemed to create some ill will in Nepal towards India)?

One last thing, I had read a while back that India had been given permission by Nepal at one point to build an Air Force Base at a place called Surkhet, does India currently have any sort of military presence in Nepal at all, or is the relationship too strained for India to have such a presence?

I 100% agree with the historical facts on political and geographical representation of India.

I do not however agree that there is any fault of Indian citizens here. It is the kind of leaders we got to choose from, this is one part of it. The leaders themselves were a bigger part of the conspiracy whereby the brave were eliminated and the impotent and proxies like Nehru and Gandhi were promoted by the imperialists.

For all the faults Indira Gandhi had, if she had not ruled India, we would not be having NE with us today. She eliminated the foreign controlled monetary and financial mafia by nationalizing the banks. She stopped the loot of the India's natural wealth by nationalizing mining. She created fuel supply security for India by nationalizing the Oil companies. She dismembered Pakistan, imagine if it was still existent, it would be a horror.

Do not mistake me for supporting such socialistic acts, but I personally think that these were the need of the hour which she boldly took decision for.

India's whole system was designed by the British to torture its native. And our leaders continued with it so as to accrue similar benefits from the system, as the British did, using the same policies and strategy.

I personally believe that it was a big conspiracy to eliminate the good leadership in the guise of some manufactured illness or accident and promote the propaganda of Gandhi to the masses. Else, the only civilization which has survived with its culture would not have survived but for the Rajputs, the Marathas and the Sikhs. Such valor has no parallel in history.

The bottom line - every aspect of India is battered. Modi is treading in the right direction. Let's call 26th May, 2014 as our Independence day and measure how much we have progressed since then. Everyone who ruled India before that date were traitors except for Vajpayee and Indira Gandhi.

    No issues.

There is a project in my mind about the Indian relationship with it's neighbours, but that needs time as I do need to read a lot for that. Frankly, it requires company to work on such things on an online forum, which is non-existent.

Brief summation I can give you - India 'encouraged' the neighbouring nation states to move towards constitutional monarchy (where monarchy was existent) and democracy where autocracy existed. Towards this end, you can link up the loss in influence and access to the corridors of power in Myanmar when the Military Junta took over and India effectively boycotted them over democracy concerns, thereby allowing the Chinese to gain an access in the void left and today the Chinese have made impressive inroads into Myanmar (India is catching up with democracy kicking in) and have built a road into North Myanmar, which leaves Indian states of Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram open to an invading force from China in case of war.

Similarly Nepal and Bhutan were allowed to remain independent by India in 1947 on the premise of secured buffers. By encouraging a constitutional monarchy, the ideals were being followed. But with democracy the decades of 'resentment' over Indian 'interference' and projection as such, has created an unmanageable backlash. The same is existing in Bhutan, where sections of the Society are calling on Bhutan to bypass India and establish links with China, a fair demand which was always expected of the Democracy, but this is where the Indian antithesis puts it in a position of working against itself and destabilizing the status it planned originally. Thereby creating an antipathy to it's self.

As for Indian military presence, there are few assistance projects in terms of health care etc in Nepal being run by Indian Army. Especially since a lot of the Nepalis are ex-servicemen, we have facilities there.

But there is no military basing or force per se. Although we have troops ear marked to move into Nepal in case China moves through Nepal in a conflict with India or invades Nepal, and they will hardly take time to move in, we do not foresee a need for permanent stationing nor is it desirable.

Ah, so in a way India is trapped in a tricky situation of its own making (though the push for constitutional monarchy/democracy in neighboring states was noble and pretty well intentioned I'd say). That's a shame. I guess the only way to counter that now is to conduct good works in those neighboring countries (different sorts of aid, people to people contacts, support in reconstruction after disasters, development projects etc). And at the same time, we must strike a delicate balance where on one hand our forces are available to safeguard our own interests in the area and also support these little countries if China harasses them and they request assistance, but at the same time not have too "overbearing" of a military presence to the point where the countries feel threatened by us somehow.

Also, thanks for your response, it was very informative.
