    • If confirmed, Dan Coats would be in charge of CIA.
    • ISRO on February 15 successfully launched a record 104 satellites in one go.
WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump's top spymaster nominee has said he was "shocked" to know that India Dan Coats told lawmakers on Tuesday during his confirmation hearing for the position of Director of National Intelligence.
He said the US cannot afford to be seen lagging behind.

"They may be small in size with different functions and so forth but one rocket can send up, I think it was 104 platforms," said Coats, who if confirmed would be in-charge of all major American intelligence agencies including the CIA.

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on February 15 successfully launched a record 104 satellites on a single rocket from the Sriharikota spaceport in Andhra Pradesh.

They (US and other western nations) still think India is a land of snake charmers and cows. :D

If Modi government is elected for another term there will be more surprises for them in 2025.

No they don't...I can't speak for their general population...
But the government and their security apparatus very well know about our capabilities...

    numerous agencies actively monitor every move....Missile Tests...Interceptor Tests....State Elections.....Everything...
While they might not predict every move to the last bit of detail ...but they have a pretty good overall picture.....

everyone peeps in the houses of everyone else in this day and age....

Rightly they are frustrated. India with the genius of her scientist and innovation as worked out many solutions which simply others can not match atleast in price. India is becoming more and more economical in high tech area. Yes US can also launch satellite but not with as ease as India did. They will require lots of experimentation with the out flow of fund like the Mangal Mission where they spend 10 times more money compared to India. India is making space race costly for others. China is also frustrated. After chest thumping by china for their heavy lift capability, their government controlled news paper wrote that china is lagging behind. With the arrival of reusable technology, India shall completely out-compete all her possible rival in space launch race.

Do not confuse rhetoric with hostility and Do not self praise one self too much. We are low cost, and our roles are different NASA is a totally different ball game.

SpaceX will change a lot of dynamics in days to come.

Any institute which will not be able to meet the criterion shall become nonviable and irrelevant over a period of time. Bloody if some one launches my satellite at a half of the cost of any country, why would any agency will pay double amount. It is true for communication and satellite imaginary also. If somebody provide me the same image at a half of the cost, why would anybody go for costly images? It is true for communication also. India shall soon have launch capability at a very effective rate in the band of small weight to upto 6 tons. Bloody who will compete with ISRO?

ISRO can launch any number of satellites subject to rocket weight carrying capability. Who can match that?

ISRO can launch satellites in multiple orbit with single rocket. How many other countries can do that?

ISRO satellites can provide bloody 64 cm resolutions. How many other countries can match it?

ISRO has sate of art communication satellites. How many other countries can match that?

I was referring to the reporting standards of the TOI. This isn't about ISRO.
