Did not say RSS could be involved in Mumbai blasts: Digvijay

Indore, Jul 16 (PTI) Denying that he had spoken about the possibility of RSS involvement in the Mumbai blasts, Congress leader Digvijay Singh today said he had been misquoted.

"In the aftermath of the Mumbai blasts, I had said that the possibility of any group''s involvement cannot be ruled out. But I had not taken the name of RSS. I have been misquoted," he told reporters here.

The Congress General Secretary''s alleged remarks created a flutter in the political circles, with Opposition BJP today terming them as "disgusting and objectionable".

"The BJP strongly condemns the disgusting statements of Digvijay Singh and seeks an apology from Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on this," party spokesman Shahnawaz Hussain told reporters here.

"Digvijay Singh is playing politics over terror and dead bodies. He is trying to divert the course of investigations into the Mumbai terror attack by making such statements," he said.

When asked about the criticism by Hussain, Singh said, "Shahnawaz wears a mask. He reads out only those statements which the RSS writes and hands over to him."

Singh also told reporters that the Centre and Maharashtra government were serious about investigations into the Mumbai blasts and that the Maharashtra ATS should be given time to carry out its probe.

On Congress leader Rahul Gandhi''s statement that it was not possible to prevent each and every terror attack, Singh said, "I condemn the statements being made on what was said by the person who lost his grandmother and father to terrorism."

Wonder how many more times everyone misquotes Diggy Raja. His statements are on video -

If he has proof about Sangh's involvement why doesn't he go to the Supreme Court and present his case. Is he above all the Law enforcement agencies or is some kind of omni-potent and omni-scient messiah for the minorities that he only knows (but cannot prove) which no one else among the 1.2 billion citizens have a clue.

Long live Diggy - Kalmadi is innocent, Indian Mujahideen are all saints and the worst terrorists on the planet are the saffron clad sadhu babas. Are you still not afraid our fellow countrymen. Watch out for those damn Sanghis coming to terrorize you.
    :sarcastic:

This is the best on Diggy yet, Dr. Surendra Dubey on Diggy.

Because those groups 'exist' only in the vivid imagination of some "pseudo secularists" who want to provide a moral equivalent to Jehadis and in the cooked up files of P.Chidambaram's NIA for the vote bank politics of his party.

State govt's negligence responsible for Mumbai blasts: Gurudas Kamat

Sulking Congress leader Gurudas Kamat, who recently quit the Union council of ministers, has blamed the Maharashtra government for the 13/7 triple bomb blasts that rocked Mumbai.

Kamat, who visited his constituency Mumbai North West for the first time after his resignation, criticised the state government for not learning a lesson from the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai.

"If 5,000 CCTV cameras would have been set up in different parts of Mumbai, last week's bomb blasts at Opera House, Zaveri Bazaar and Dadar would not have taken place," he said.

"The government should have taken stern steps to improve the security after the November 2008 terror strikes. But, the government has not learnt a lesson and precautions that needed to be taken were ignored," he said.

He also said that the state government had failed to procure patrol boats and construct coastal police stations.

Kamat said he had written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi soon after the blasts, stating that steps, which needed to be taken in last three years had been sidetracked.

"Last week's blasts took place due to the negligence of the state government, police and intelligence agencies," Kamat said.

    1. In such cases anywhere in the world, political bosses and security officials are quick to point fingers at some element commonly accepted suspected by the general public. And the media blow balloons out of it. Later when things cool down culprits are detected - but not always. At times, unpopular political foes/ professional competitors are roped in for personal advantage. Therefore, it is right to take a breather and let the professionals do their job undisturbed/un-influenced.

    2. Pakistan, India and all in SA may also realize that all, RPT all, our institutions are infiltrated by neo-colonials who thrive on nations' animosity, social unrest, death and destruction. With their overt as well as covert presence here is it not possible for them to either do these dastardly acts by themselves, or arrange contractors to do these or infiltrate into local organizations leading them to such acts?
