Okay, I'll take your word for it. So GaAs radar. But Skyward is still QWIP.

For India, it will be 2024+.

Gripen will fail for sure asyou lose nearly 31% thrust at Leh. F-16with 142KN engine might get thru because it has only 78KN dry thrust and rest is all wet thrust. Americans have done a smart thing by upping the wet thrust of the engine.

    @halloweene

Saab has offered GaN radar only to India. That's why I was confused, it's not from Selex.

This radar has been offered directly to the IAF Chief as part of Gripen MII back when the Chief visited Saab's facility.

1 ) US is Giving us ISTAR And EMALS ; Drones

2 )And Keeps on Extending deadlines for our Bureaucracy to Sign Deals for One More C 17 And M 777 Deals

    3) And Now they Are Openly Supporting India against China and Pakistan

4 ) Modifying agreements like CISMOA etc as per our Desire

So that India can Pee on the F 16

Are you really so Naive ; Do you really think that we are Just Buying Planes

No ; we are entering into a Long term Partnership against China

1, 2, 3, 4 are completely irrelevant to the F-16s. The only way F-16 will be considered is if it is actually good enough. If it's not, then Trump can suck on a grapefruit. We can pee on the F-16s all we want.

There are many ways to enter a long term partnership, but none at the cost of national security. If the Americans want a long term partnership and still sell us defence equipment, then it should be worthy enough for us to even consider it.

The US is not doing us a favour by selling F-16s. If they make us equal partners in their SSN(X), PCA or equivalent, then we are talking. The US needs India, we don't need the US.

    What a lot of BS.

India needs US more than anyone else. If India doesn’t play ball, they will put the squeeze on and India will go back to dark ages.

Oh really? What a gem. Throughout the Cold War we were on the other side and nothing happened. So all those decades when we were poor, broke, weak etc, we managed to fend off US pressure, but now we can suddenly be put the squeeze on?

The US can't do anything to hurt us. Zilch. They have zero power over us. But to contain China, they need us, they can't do it by themselves.

If we are to contain China, we only need to exist, that's it.

The Globaleye is based on GaN technology and if they really can offer such ranges, it's strategically more important to block the way to our enemies!

Yes, they want to buy more Erieye and eventually will need upgrades to their existing AWACS. Getting that capability into PAF changed the game and if they can upgrade it to GaN...:frown:
