    The IAF is not concerned by divisions within LCA anymore. They will just buy whatever's the latest block available for production.

    The more Mk1 and Mk1A are delayed, the more viable Mk2 becomes. So every year the Mk1's FOC is delayed, Mk1A will be delayed by the same time, which means the window for Mk2's entry into service will become longer.

    IAF won't stop at buying just 83 Mk1A. They will order 3 more squadrons after that. According to the original dates HAL wants to deliver all 83 by 2024, but Mk1's delays would mean Mk1A delivery will only complete by 2028, HAL needs at least 5-6 years to deliver all 83 Mk1A. If Mk2 is ready by then, IAF will order 3 more squadrons. If Mk2 is also delayed, then IAF will buy more Mk1A. It's a circus.

    Agree. My point was not related to money either but rather the Government keeps prolonging the acquisition process with the aim of saving money but in the end resulting in costly and unfavorable deals.

    No mention of this incident, I see. :achmed:

    They ended up bringing fuel trucks all the way across Europe, from Sweden to Italy.

    The talk about F -16 production line to Republic of India is too good but the real answer is this that United States of America and Republic of India are having good relations. Here it would be more about the refuelling and arming the fighter planes, LEMAO Agreement. Its on the higher Military officials and Governments to discuss further and take the decision and implement the agreements in case of full scale war. Does the American/Indian weapons fits on each other fighter planes, I think these questions will be more important to understand ? even software codes with a huge command center.

    Rough estimates

    Oman - (12) 8 F-16C-50 (Adv.), 4 F-16D-50 (Adv.)

    Indonesia - (12) 8 F-16A-15OCU, 4 F-16B-15OCU

    Singapore - (8) 4 F-16A-15OCU, 4 F-16B-15OCU, (18) 8 F-16C-52, 10 F-16D-52, (12) 10 F-16C-52, 2 F-16D-52, (20) 20 F-16D-52.

    Bahrain - (12) 8 F-16C-40, 4 F-16D-40, (10) 10 F-16C-40

    Egypt - (42) 34 F-16A-15, 8 F-16B-15 , (40) 34 F-16C-32, 6 F-16D-32, (47) 35 F-16C-40, 12 F-16D-40, (46) 34 F-16C-40, 12 F-16D-40, (21) 21 F-16C-40, (24) 12 F-16C-40, 12 F-16D-40.

    Which is bad planing of Swedish Air Force, but wound not be an issue for IAF. We don't use our fighters from foreign air bases in NATO conflicts, nor are we using the RM12 engine.

    The point however was the capability of the reconnaissance pod, which could be an important point for IAF. At the moment they are reliant on MKI in that role, which is costly and diverts our prime A2A fighter away to a basic role. Having more cost-efficient MMRCAs also deployed around the country, with a fully fledged recon pod, would come handy. The Saab pod btw is integrated on some F16s too.

    @ averageamerican

    "Emmanuel Macron has also managed to advance arms cases, one concerning Rafale aircraft, the other armored vehicles. Qatar has lifted the option on the twelve Rafale, worth an estimated 1.1 billion euros, accompanying the twenty-four ordered in April 2015. It has just taken another option for 36 fighter aircraft."

    => 92 € million per Rafale.
