First stage testing of China’s flying lab completed on Russian Tu-204 aircraft

    The first stage of testing of China’s flying laboratory on board of Tu -2014- 120CE has been accomplished with the participation of specialists from Russia’s “Tupolevâ€￾ aviation company and their Chinese counterparts, Interfax reported.

    "Tupolev" is working on the development of the aircraft, while the Chinese specialists are working of the installation of equipment for the flying laboratory. Further talks on bilateral cooperation are planned for January next year, when the Chinese side is expected to sign contracts for the procurement of several more Tu-204 aircrafts. These Russian planes are capable of flying with 27 tons of weight in international standard containers up to a distance of up to 3000 km. With a cargo weighing 10,500 kg, the Tu-204-120CE can fly up to a distance of 7400 km.
