Dense fog in Delhi-NCR and adjoining region have started to feel the mild winter chill. It was a foggy morning in the national capital on Thursday with Delhiites experiencing chilly conditions as the minimum temperature settled three notches below normal degrees Celsius.

Besides this, the wind speed that was earlier ranging between 20 kmph - 30 kmph has also reduced drastically and at present, these winds are light to very light. All these factors – low minimum temperatures, increased moisture and calm winds make the situation favourable for the formation of the fog over the entire northern plains including Delhi-NCR

However, with another Western Disturbance approaching, night temperatures will once again increase during the next 48 hours but the rise will be a marginally one
