That's the simple truth any Indian must realizable, when we talk about indigenous development capability.

Yes I don't see a chance either that India joins and yes, India obviously would be a buyer only, but then again, that's pretty much the deal in FGFA as well.

Sadly lost in negotiations, but the Russians are the only one, where we can try to negotiate, so it's worth a try.

best case scenario another mki fiasco for the twin seater, but that depends on how much you can get them drunk.

India plans with AMCA and Ghatak UCAV, just as this FCAS proposal plans with a manned and unmanned version too. The difference could lie in the way the unmanned version might look like.

Dassault and BAE plans were obviously in the direction of a strike oriented UCAV, while Airbus and Saab, might think about it more as an unmanned offshoot of the fighter platform.

Logically, developing the Neuron first, to deal with the earlier replacement's of Tornado or Hornets and making a stealth figher to replace EF, Rafale and hopefully some Gripen C/Ds would make the most sense. But it will be interesting how Merkel and Macron get not only the egos of the EU partner governments under control, but also the egos of some companies.

Add some joint export benefits and say in the upgrades and I'm in. The problem is, that the government might want more.

you do know even if the russains offer "full" tot you wont actually get it as they may make it prohibitorily expensive and may factor in you close ties with murica. honestly it would be single seat t-50mki and you'd go for about ~120

That's needs to be seen, but in any case the deal will be well above what the MKI deal offered us back then, since credibe ToT, joint upgrades, joint exports were not on the list back then. I see it more as a Brahmos like deal, rather than MKI.

We have a space program. We have a nuclear program, including a weapons program. We have an end to end military industrial complex.

We have designed and built our own aircraft. We have designed and built our own engine.

We have an advanced ballistic missile program. We have our own nuclear submarine.

Germany's achievements are second rung compared to India's in defence research. We bring a lot more to the table than Germany ever can. And this is not even counting the size of our market.

    Worship me.

    :king smiley

On a more serious note, we can develop a next gen FCAS on our own, Germany can't.
