Hard to say, atleast by specs kestral is bigger. But have different way of seating, so may create an illusion of less space in Kestral due to the central seating arrangement against the side seating arrangement of Stryker.

    TATA Kestral

    Length : 7.80 m(25.59 ft)
    Width : 2.95 m (9.28 ft)
    Height : 2.28 m (7.48 ft)
    Crew : 3+ 9 passengers

    IAV STRYKER

    Length : 6.95 m (22 ft 10 in)
    Width : 2.72 m (8 ft 11 in)
    Height : 2.64 m (8 ft 8 in)
    Crew : 2+ 9 passengers

Nice, some details at last. However, I have some worries -

A weight of only 18.3 tons? That's only marginally higher than a BMP-2 and frankly that seems unbelievable. Also a protection level of STANAG-4 would mean that it can't take a hit from a 25mm cannon...does IA think this level is not needed? I hope there will be add-on applique armor plates/side skirts etc. that can up the protection to STANAG-5 at least in the front & sides. Meanwhile, STANAG-6 can stop 30mm cannons. However, if we install an Active Protection System (APS), it should mitigate the problem to a degree.

    The armament package is impressive.

    • 40mm CTAS cannon (same family of guns as on Ajax Scout SV) - this is a huge improvement over the 30mm 2A42 gun on the BMP-2, although RoF/RPM is reduced considerably.
    • 2 x ATGM launchers
    • 7.62mm co-axial MG
    • Automatic Grenade Launcher mounted on the side

Which is surprising. This would mean there is at least some duplication of efforts going on. Who is teaming up with TPSED? We know that Tata Motors, Bharat Forge & General Dynamics are in a consortium.

Not sure about that - the Tata Motors FICV (which frankly looks like a heavily modernized BMP) concept has been around for years. We also saw a bare-bones hull being test-driven.

TPSED's model is new and seems at least partially influenced by General Dynamics UK's AJAX fighting vehicle. Which is part of the reason why I was surprised at it's extremely low weight-class of only 18.3t compared to the 38t Ajax. This might turn out to be Ajax's little brother, with a lighter armor & less powerful engine, while still possessing comparable (if not superior) firepower - and having a much bigger emphasis on actual infantry-carrying capacity. The Ajax can carry 4 passengers maximum while the video shows the TPSED FICV carrying 8 passengers.

An embarassingly good presentation there (I have not seen anything from the DPSUs that rivals this).
