German coalition talks collapse after deadlock on migration and energy
Chancellor Angela Merkel left facing prospect of forming minority government – or fresh elections – after FDP quits negotiations

The AFDs vote grew, it didn't shrink.

Geert Wilders got 20 out of 150 seats, more than UKIP every managed. Front Nationale got 35%. These are not victories for the EU. People are desperately voting for further right candidates to get the message across. These candidates wouldn't even get a look in in a stable, sensibly managed country.

    Russian interference my ass.

Refugees are still allowed across, just not immigrants from elsewhere. And the people in Turkey just go to Lesbos anyway.

Bullcrap, most of them are economic migrants. Even with the 'refugees', why do they come all the way to Europe without stopping at the nearest safe country?

Merkel and Juncker made the problem in the first place, they gave an open invite.

As explained, because NPD vote bank is now included.

Neither Wilders, nor Le Pen got majorities to govern, contrary to believes before the elections. In fact le Pen didn't even increased the votes and that with all the hype about the EU, Brexit, refugees..., so these are wins for the EU!

That's the good thing about a democracy, you have different options to vote and to voice your opinion. But that doesn't mean they represent the majority of the country. These are voices and concerns that must be heard, but not overstated.

Really? It was your government that warned recently, about Russia trying to interfere in the issues in Spain. So do you think that was for fun?

Because they either can stay in camps like in Jordanian or Turkey, with no future, or try to make it till Europe, where you can try to build up a new life. What would you do, in their place after losing everything you had?

OT, but do you have any infos on the operational cost of RAFs EFs compared to the F35s? If yes link me in the EF, or F35 threads please.

All 3 of those parties made gains and Austria had a close shave too. It isn't a win for the EU. UKIP only got 10% here, now we have lunatics winning 35% in Europe.

You mean voices should be ignored until they elect lunatics just to get their point across. A little dangerous.

    Government isn't right about everything.

That's the problem, they're not supposed to build up a life, because they're supposed to go right back when the fighting ends. But then there's a valid argument that since most of them are men of fighting age, they should be fighting rather than running. If I was in their position, I would fight the terrorists.

    Only Jane's estimate.

When does it end? The war goes on for 5 years and there is no end in sight, since new wars are already building up (against Kurds), so do you stay in a camp for years or even a decade with no prospect for your future? No you won't and if you can, you will try to reach a country that is safe and offers hope for the future.

If the situation would be that simple, they would too, but you have the war on ISIS, the war on Azzad, the war on Kurds, the war on terror groups from Lebanon... all in a single country, aided by external powers.

Btw, look at the Iraqis! The more their country stabilises, the more are retuning again. So the solution is not shutting down and complaining about refugees, but stabilising such regions.

A country like the UK must lead and not isolate itself.

    Thx

Still, asylum is only ever supposed to be temporary. You should stay in a camp rather than being an economic migrant.

Then you pick a side and fight. Imagine if everyone had fled seeking asylum during WWII?

Stabilise the Middle East? How? Thermonuclear holocaust?

We are not isolating ourselves, we were isolated in the EU.
