Thank God ,we dont have any Pak members here ,otherwise ,they would say Porus was a Pakistan ,Ambhi was in Pakistan .This ,that etc .
@Levina we knows such TTA in their forum.
On topic:But all of us chose not to analyse the alternative situation prevailing in those areas even now .
To be precise ,since Alexanders time ,those areas of Afghan region facing invasion and almost all invaders had one aim ,the Indian subcontinent ,the curse of that nation was they were the only route to our land .

Anyway western scholars did their best to show their hangover over this incident .

This Battle was a stalemate in which Alexander was lucky to have survived. The battle was not one sided and it continued to swing either side thruout the day with no clear winner at any stage and no army was sure of victory. But Alexander had larger force and he failed to win the battle. He was forced to seek truce at the terms and conditions of Porus. So who finally won? The King who could dictate or the King who accepted those dictates?

Ah .. finally ... an apt response. As is said - history is written by the victor. (depends who gets away with the story!!!)

I my life, I have never come across a battle in which the so called Victor not only accepted the looser as his friend and refused to ride to his city but also gave him the land of his own ally-Ambhi to set up a city in his name-Purushpur now called Peshawar.

The magnanimity claimed as a virtue by those not so virtuous.

That is the precise reason why I abhor Indians hailing their history - what use when you loose it to a bunch of foreigners and our history is replete with those examples?

Like 1857 being the first war of independence. It was Karl Marx who called it as such, the Indian Army units .. label them as mutiny in their war diaries, especially 5 RajRif .. who actually killed Rani of Jhansi.

    Anyways, I rant off.

    Thank you sir.

For a professional soldier, what matters is pride irrespective of who the enemy is. Once in Battle, victory is all that matters. Mahabharata war was between Hindus only.

This is how India has reached where it is today .... when majority decide to ignore what is profusely propagated by a highly motivated local minority paid agents of the foreign envies; where they agree to take up this task against their own people and culture. Their inner self-worth is created by their masters by providing importance, paying attention, bribing and corrupting them with psychological, mental and material pleasure, as well as stoking their ego - all through the art of seduction and deception. Their self-seeking awards and validation from the foreign entity are the biggest motivation to work harder for their masters. The key to all this is that they are made to be convinced of their inferiority complex. This trick is implemented through the exploitation of material and its mental perception and activity, leading to attitude formations. All of this drives them to lead the war to achieve the greatest ambition for their masters - the "the destruction of power of true knowledge". This is the ultimate agenda of the agents of the western civilization against the Indian culture. Once in the trap, it is difficult for these local minority agents to get out of this subtle psychological-mental prison created by their captors. They are imprisoned in the Stockholm syndrome. The individual's new found identity is derived from the intense self-indoctrination subscribing to the hater's cult.
