Totally agree - Speaking of European influence, doesn't IMRH look like Eurocopter EC725, with its 5 blade main motor etc similarity, with improved engine for higher service ceiling.

It does but that shouldn't come as much of a surprise, this is just convergent design. Most medium weight helos have the same design features.

Even I wish that the IMRH be ready by 2025....But this is uncharted territory for HAL... Indigenous Design, Development and Production of a 13T MTOW craft will throw many unknown challenges....I wish they do it quickly...

    PS :
After developing ALH and Rudras and LCH's....The LUH wasn't that difficult of a job...Still there might as well be a delay of couple of years...And it's still not complete yet it's just had a 'test flight' (15 Minutes in the air)...We never know when the next glitch or delay is....

Anyway...I am sure we will see the IMRH on production in 2030 and in full fledged service inn 2032-2035....All he best to HAL.....

Lets see what future brings in. Anyway bestofluck to HAL

Fully agreed, the IMRH will be a signifcant step for HAL but I still think it will be ready by 2027.

The LUH has logged over a dozen hous, the first offical flight was just for the media/VVIPs, it had been flying much before that event. The TD-2 will soon be flying and barring major glitches will get FOC in 2018. The LUH is a very simple product and thus won't require the extensive testing seen with the LCH.

IMRH is totally de-linked from any such project.

All that exists is an MoU with the Americans and I wouldn't place too much hope in ever seeing this come to anything substantial. If you'll remember India also had a MoU to be part of the JLTV- what became of that?

The Chopper Definitely looks like a Mix of Puma/Cougar and ALH....Not Mi'ish as I earlier thought it to be...Cool....
    The Design is definitely Refreshing.....
    All the Best to HAL.....

yeah, for some reason HAL's first mock-ups always seem to be of the civlian variants"

Guess, long term this will be the replacement for the AW-101s for the IAF's communication SQN (the IMRH that is, not the LUH).

Well if they have the military orders in the bag they think it's best to target potential buyers ie civlians, not a very succesful strategy so far though.

+ by the way, Pawan Hans is in talks with HAL to order 10 ALH MK.3 with these "luxery" interiors.

++ the LUH may be able to seize a sizeable chunk of the civlian market in India if the price point is right. The ALH was never going to do it by being on the heavier side of the light catergory and being twin engined. The LUH could seriously clean up (being light weight, no frills and single engined).
