At a recently concluded seminar titled ‘Hindus in Pakistan-issues and solutions,’ held at the Karachi Press Club, people belonging to the Hindu community aired their grievances with the increased level of forced conversions to Islam.

Uncle of a girl Rinkle Kumari, Raj Kumar revealed that a six-year-old girl, Jumna, along with her 10-year-old sister, Pooja were also being forced to change religion had the media not raised their case, Dawn News reports. Jumna’s mother Soma revealed that one day her girls didn’t return from their daily door-to-door selling of clay toys and after several reports in the media about them, they were found to be staying with a man named Rajab Pathan. She further revealed that the police of Akhtar Colony in Mirpurkhas area later produced the girls in court as Muslim children.

Chairman of the All Hindu Rights Organisation, Kishan Chand Parwani, said that it was sad to see the problems of minorities in Pakistan multiplying instead of decreasing. He said that in his five terms of serving as an MNA in Pakistan, he knew that the rights of Hindus have never remained a priority, adding that the Marriage Act for Hindus was never passed by the assembly as the government finished its term and now underage Hindu girls were being forcibly converted to Islam and married to Muslim men.

Parwani further said that Hindu community in Pakistan was facing harassment at every level.

Meanwhile, politician Dr Riaz Chandio said that they would have had no problems with their daughters converting to Islam if they did so of their own free will. Former senator Safdar Abbasi said that it was a sad reality that not just Hindu temples but also mosques, Imambargahs and churches were not safe in Pakistan these days, the report added.

Get some weapons and kill those bastards who are doing this forcefully...I urge to the Hindus all around the globe that either live with dignity or fight for that because it better to get killed while fighting than to surrender......

If there is evidence they are forcing conversion or otherwise threatening them, India should invest in the development of the Hindu communities in Islamic nations.

Not necessarily give money to individuals; that would be too easy to abuse. But rather organize community events, build and maintain temples / shrines, support and invest in Hindu schools and businesses, access to Indian media, even contract private security and construct gated communities in problem areas &c..

You're suggesting that government or otherwise law enforcement / administrators in Islamic states are complicit with these threats and coerced conversions. Which certainly isn't impossible.

There is no other Hindu nation than India. We are the only one to vouch for the future interest of our communities abroad. If they will neither significantly curb these incidents nor allow our support for Hindu diaspora communities, then our government needs to start being more vocal, perhaps at UN international court for example, along with other nations with diaspora communities under threat, that Islamic nations follow the same social obligations expected of the rest of the world.

Perhaps muslim populations feel persecuted; maybe in certain cases they have good justification for feeling this way. But it's still a relevant question for the world community to ask when we can expect the Islamic world to extend the same rights and protections to its minorities that every other nation does.

And if now is not a good time, then when? Can't we at least negotiate some timeline and benchmarks for progress, or do we just accept their impunity and look the other way indefinitely? I'm not just talking about Pakistan, there are certainly worse offenders.

Westerners may have colonized the Islamic World and now they feel guilty of appearing judgmental. But we've not subjugated the Islamic World or any foreign people; I don't understand why our government has adopted the same stance of squeamishness at being critical of foreign political culture when we're threatened; we're mostly the same race too.

If catalyzing progress means assisting Islamic nations in managing social reforms and providing aid to this effect, I certainly think that would be a worthwhile long-term investment for a coalition of nations, so long as there's a reasonable level of evidence of meaningful effort toward progress. It could help uplift populations into the modern world community.

Then again, when choosing to live among some foreign cultures and populations, one is certainly responsible for assuming a certain level of personal risk.

=> Hindus in Pakistan angered over forced conversions to Islam | Most Intolerant Religion

a 6 and a 10 years old girls kidnapped and forced to convert .... :coffee:

here i would advise Hindus of Pakistan to have a parallel policy to have a middle way. that is, along with one daughter, give 10-20 masturbating to those kidnappers, while saying, "keep these sperms for Test Tube kids, it will only consume 6-7 years of food before you kidnap that certain 6 year old girl."

    :tsk:

it won't consume more food of pakistan while using test tube so its in fact a bit saving side this way too, as compare to feeding a pregnant woman

and in fact, this practice is now very usual in USA at present :coffee:

=> Number of test-tube babies born in U.S. hits record percentage | Reuters

    Hindu Marriage Act

The Hindu Marriage Act had essentially come to effect from 18th May, 1955. The scope of the law encompasses all Hindu marriages throughout the nation except the state of Jammu & Kashmir.

    Specifics of the Law

A Hindu when married to a non-Hindu, the law states that the non-Hindu spouse must convert to Hinduism. If the non-Hindu spouse happens to be a Christian, then as per the law, the couple may marry under the Christian Marriage Act of 1872. In that case their marriage would be governed under the Christian Marriage Act of 1872. A third option has also been kept open i.e Civil Marriage, for the mixed religion couples of India.

The law restricts the minimum age for marriage at 21 years for men and 18 years for women. The other parameter that has been established by the Act is that the couple must have a sound mind and body so that they are physically and mentally able to have consent for their marriage and are in healthy shape to have children.
