The Union home ministry on Wednesday has issued an alert to state governments and their police forces indicating that global jihadis might try to target Israelis and their interests in India in the wake of the ongoing unrest in the Middle East.

It has sought heightened security cover for Israelis travelling individually or in groups to India.

Intelligence agencies have provided inputs to the home ministry regarding a situation emerging out of hostilities between Israel and Palestine, sources said.

The agencies have also informed the ministry regarding threats from returning global jihadi operatives from the Syria-Iraq war theatre.

A number of such jihadi operatives returning from the war-torn region belong to European countries. There is a possibility that citizens from these countries may easily obtain visas without any suspicion.

The possibility of highly-motivated jihadi operatives travelling to India to target Israeli citizens also cannot be ruled out.

The central intelligence agencies have also pointed out that there is a threat from al-Qaeda affiliates active in the Horn of Africa, Somalia and Nigeria also add to the threats to Israelis travelling abroad.

India is one of the favourite destinations for Israeli tourists, and as they generally travel in groups it makes them vulnerable during their stay in hotels and visits to Jewish tourist destinations like synagogues or museums.

Following specific intelligence inputs on several terror activities against Israelis and Jewish interests, the Ministry of Home Affairs has directed state governments to beef up security at symbolic Israeli hotspots like delegations, companies, Jewish community centres, museums and Chabad houses.

The Home Ministry’s Internal Security first division also directed that extra care is required at times when groups of Israelis disembark from cruise ships, buses, etc. or take tours of various sites and also keep utmost vigil and proper security arrangements to prevent any law and order problems and other untoward incidents.

Two years ago terror operatives had used a limpid car bomb to attack the Israeli embassy staff. A motorcyclist had attached a stick bomb to the car that belonged to the wife of an Israeli diplomat while she was on her way to pick up her children from school.

The lady had sustained severe injuries and required surgery, while her driver and two bystanders had also suffered minor injuries.

The terror operatives in Delhi in the past have targeted other tourists as well.

26/11 Mumbai Attacks Complicit Israeli Diamond Mafia Funding Gaza Conflict

As Israel carries out yet another attack on Gaza, jewelers worldwide continue to conceal the fact that blood diamonds are supporting one of the most abhorrent and prolonged injustices against a defenseless indigenous people. Israel’s “prominent and central position” in the global diamond industry has ensured that diamonds which fund war crimes in Palestine evade regulation. Consumers have been kept in the dark and lied to about the extent of this blood diamond problem responsible for 26/11 Mumbai Attacks.
