Police on Sunday arrested a 21-year-old girl for questioning the total shutdown in the city for Bal Thackeray’s funeral on her Facebook account. Another girl who ‘liked’ the comment was also arrested.

The duo were booked under Section 295 (a) of the IPC (for hurting religious sentiments) and Section 64 (a) of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

The IT act is so vaguely worded that most threads (and comments) here are liable for action.

Actually that IT act was a recent one. People asking for a "strong state" should be happy about that law!

Only morons like you confuse strong state with authoritarianism.
Strong state just means that it protects the equality of law for all citizens which certainly not happens in the india of pseudo-secular leftist morons jhollawalas

What is the sense in calling a strong state when its laws are enforced equally, if that state has minimal/weaker laws to start with? :D

India is a free country and everybody has a right to express their opinion.
though i'm not familiar with the act and i think the comment was probably politically motivated IMO incidents like this do not reflect well on our democracy.
