Finally...I'm seeing proper ACH-type ballistic helmets in use by regular IA units. I know that units that are sent for international exercises are often better equipped than the average infantry soldier, but it's a start. It'll be a long while before the whole infantry can be equipped with them...still, it's a step in the right direction. One that came way too late.

Yup noticed this a few days back also, will likely be adopted by the IA as a whole, replacing current Model 1974 helmets:

It is a start but it is already outdated.

I'm more interested to see the new generation helmets the IA has signed up for (primarily for the RR as of now) with built in comms from MKU:

I agree, they can hardly be considered state of the art. The US and most West-aligned militaries have had these for like 40 years by now.

I believe the regular infantry will get the normal, no-frills ACH...

Units like RR would be getting the MICH-type helmets with built-in comms and possibly an NVG mount+rails, as you mentioned...

Special Forces (Paras, Garuds, MARCOS etc.) just HAVE to get some FAST-type helmets with all of the bells & whistles...

Just Hope they take into account the Average Indian Guys Head . Checked out a FAST Helmet in Olive Planet Bangalore - either my head is too small or the helmet was too big :p

I suppose MKU, being an Indian company, will have that covered. Will be quite a huge blunder if it doesn't.
