Ships full of food and supplies from India will now arrive directly in Qatar's Hamad Port without having to stop anywhere in the Gulf region, offering fresh relief to the small emirate blockaded by its neighbours since June 5.

The new route links Hamad Port in Qatar with Mundra and Nhava Sheva ports in India, according to the Qatar News Agency.

Indian ships will arrive at Hamad port every Friday, with the first shipment expected to bring in 710 containers, said Qatar's Ministry of Transport.

Qatar has been looking to break the blockade imposed on it by Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, blocking several of Qatar's usual land and maritime freight routes. Flights have also been affected by its Gulf neighbours refusing to let Qatar carriers use their airspace.

Doha has established direct shipping routes with Oman and has sought alternative suppliers of foodstuffs and goods from nations such as Turkey and Iran.

A moderate/sickular country is always better than a sunni radical KSA. We are just following our foreign policy, in fact we should rather provide free food to show our support to the people of Qatar. Kudos to MEA/GOI.

Qatar is also a Sunni radical country, probably even more radical than KSA.

We should approach our relation with Arabs on strict profit-loss paradigm. Here I think, Pakistan has joined KSA led "invade Qatar-Iran" alliance, thus our chances to extort benefits from KSA group has gone down, hence this show of support to Qatar.

I beg to differ, there are many evidences which proves that Qatar has some moderate groups and they have some influence on the ruler. Plus Qatar does provides some freedom to the outsider/labours compared to KSA e.g. they recently abolished Kafala system.

As far as KSA is concerned, I see it as the 2nd biggest "terrorist nation" in the world after USA.

India is like that non alcoholic friend, who will accompany you to the bar, offer you drinks, listen to your rants, help you cleanup after you puked and then reach you home safely when you are wasted as fcuk.

    Wtf was that?

Do any UNSC resolution exist which say to back out from deals with Qatar?

We have some commitments, and KSA and UAE understand this. Do we hold liable these countries for dealings with Pak?

And as for gau mutra, what was the purpose of this? @nair please take care of this idiot.

Yeah, they retaliate by putting oil embargo on there one of the largest buyer. Great logics.

And how many GCC countries accept this?

BTW, why not KSA putting embargo on us for Iran? Iran is bigger threat to them? Or Qatar?

yep, they're on some serious pot. Saudi has no issues putting embargo even on USA, they have done that in the past. they cared 2 hoots banning overflights and cutting dilomatic ties but thy have problems cutting supply to us? They sit on billions in revenues. They can shut down supply for the whole world for an entire year and still come out of it. We need them more than they need us. It's called 'using your brains at times'

We should be already under embargo, for dealings with Iran. Right?
