it is happening as i had said long time ago

    what i had said

    that

till the time a clear decision is not made on Rafale - IAF will live in a time warp around it, not moving on any other fighters nor other systems to arrange monwy and creae pressure on Def Min / Govt

it is better to take a quick decision on rafale either way preferably cancel it

if that is done there wont be any more dithering on it and IAF will know the limits and will have clear cut picture on rafale

once that happens IAF will find all plan B C D upto X Y Z

and it will immideatly be forced to make some quick decisions on more Su30MKi, LCA in large nos , FGFA/PAKFA, Su30MKI upgrade, indain AEWACS, AMCA

and as i had said once they have been told no more than 36 rafale and that the 36 too are iffy not to be taken for granted thing have begun moving at fast pace on all other things instantly

We were talking about nominal GDP growth. Not actual GDP growth. Big difference between the two.

That's why I was talking about China's nominal GDP growth. Try to get what the discussion is about before jumping into it.

    PPP

China GDP (purchasing power parity) - Economy
China's GDP by PPP in 2006 was $7.5T, today it is $17.6T. That's a 2.34 times difference. Average growth of 11.84%.

India GDP (purchasing power parity) - Economy
India's GDP by PPP in 2006 was $3.6T, today it is $7.4T. That's a 2.05 times difference. Average growth of 9.46%.

Both our economies have grown at a similar rate during the period.

China's GDP in RMB in 2006 was 22000B, in 2014 it was 64000B. GDP increased by 2.9 times.
India's GDP in INR in 2006 was 40000B, in 2014 it was 126000B. GDP increased by 3.15 times.

But due to exchange rate fluctuations, China's GDP is 5.5 times higher from 2006 to 2014 while India's GDP is just 2.65 times higher.

If we assume growth rate is 10% for the next 3 years. India will have grown to 167T which is 2.6T in today's money, 64 INR to USD.

If we assume exchange rate increases by 30% in that same period. India will have grown to 167T which is 3.7T at 45 INR to USD. We would go from today's French economy to today's German economy in just 3 years with just exchange rate changes. That would roughly double our economy from today's standards.

I have already responded to it. Go check it again.

It's not your job to respond to posts you don't like, there is a report function available for that.

And don't push your luck, your posts were distasteful. Repeat it and earn infractions.

The S-400 (or even the S-500 'Prometheus') obviously cannot substitute the BMD project entirely. It can however provide the forces
a level of anti-air (that includes ballistic missiles) capabilities that the Barak-8 cannot, it would definitely increase defence against craft
    like H-6, KJ-2000 etc.

Alarm bells for China, Pakistan; India eyes S-400 Triumf air defence missile systems

The Indian administration is expected to soon take up the proposal with Russian authorities.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Mod is scheduled to visit Russia in December, where he is expected to take up the matter with President Vladimir Putin. Also, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar is expected to visit India's neighbour in the near future.
The S-400 is a new generation anti-aircraft system, which can be equipped with very long-range missiles (up to 400km), long-range (250km) and medium-range (120km).
The S-400 Triumf is capable of countering all air attack weapons, including tactical and strategic aircraft, ballistic missiles and hypersonic targets & 5th gen fighter such as the US F-35 fighter jet.

    Everybody is treated equally?

I told Picdel once and he stopped. The same is not the case for others. They keep repeating it again and again, they even start arguing like you are now.

@vstol jockey @Gessler do we have any chance of integrating these missile systems for our ships that are escorting our carriers. there is already navalised version of s-300 onboard russian ships and s-400 is almost same in the size why dont we have them on our newer destroyers?? i realise that barak-8 is one hell of an air defense missile but it just cant match the sheer range of the s-400 and it has some ballistic missile defense capability too. and as in future we would be sending our carriers to SCS( my assumption only) it will be a good counter to their DF-21 carrier killer. so is their any possibility of integrating these systems in our ships in future?? Vstol you being a naval guy whats your take on this??

The missile with the 400Km range is massive in size. It is not part of the S-300.

Barak-ER will eventually manage a range of 120Km once it is ready for Bangalore Class.
