I agree, India wants to get into NSG for betterment of humanity but these people are trying to mislead everyone.

    Nope

Alleged Indian Commandos allegedly boarded (read hijacked) a Norwegian Vessel carrying Heavy Water in 1984 (?) and brought it to India for use in Trombay. India was denied the same by Canada due to sanctions of post-1974 test.

Norway took India to ICJ for this alleged act in 2002 (can't remember the year now) .....

    Got this from google search:

    "Heavy Water Theft

Norway has confirmed persistent reports in the press that in 1983 consignments of Norwegian heavy water were diverted and sold in the international black market. Investigations arc still continuing but reports speak of at least two separate consignments of 15 tonnes each which were hijacked from W. Germany and Roumania. India has been mentioned as one of the possible recipients of these stolen goods. It is difficult for the Indian Atomic Energy establishment to deny these allegations since in 1983 India was desperately searching for heavy water to start the first unit of the Kalpakkam reactor (MAPS-I) near Madras. The Kalpakkam reactor had been completed in 1980 and was not being started mainly due to a shortage of heavy water. The requirement tor a plant of its type and size is around 250"

Yup Kalpakkam .. I think we had enough from Trombay with Canada re-establishing supply or something. I am not current on this, this was something that I had heard of and then got a confirmation with later media report.

I think the ship was found at Alang - cut up and broken .... that is how ICJ case came about ... I just am too lazy to source it up

    Thanks for looking it up.

At least members will be slightly sure that I don't make things up :D out of my rear end ;)

That was not hijacking, even never Norway claimed this.

That was a smuggler from Germany named Alfred Hempel (whole West Germany knew what he was doing), you can google this name. Germany also helped India in missile program in 80s. Reasons: Unknown.

    Also,

Norway never filed a case against India in ICJ. Only asked a official reply from Govt. Which GoI obviously refused.

You can check cases from here

India's SSBN have been in making for 30+ years. I think GoI would have already prepared enough nukes for SSBN, rather than waiting for SSBNs to come online.

My guess is also in range of around 500 nukes. I have read a RAND report which states that India would need close to 380 nukes to permanently incapacitate Pakistan. Add some 100-200 nukes for China, and you have approx number for credible minimum deterrent.
