The Indian Army fought members of Naga terror group NSCN-Khaplang along the India-Myanmar border in the early hours of the morning. In a statement, the army denied reports that its troops had crossed the International Border during the operation. However, NDTV has learned that in a hot pursuit scenario, crossing over the unmarked International Border is likely to have taken place. The area where the encounter took place is heavily forested.

Seventy Para Commandos of the Indian Army was involved in the operation on the Indo-Myanmar border, inflicting heavy casualties on NSCN (K) insurgents as per reports.
This is the second strike of this kind by the Indian Army in recent times. In June 2015, India carried out the same kind of operation along the Myanmar border and targeted NSCN-K camps. The provocation of the operation then was attributed to the militants’ ambushing and killing of 18 Indian soldiers in Manipur, several days before the operation.

There are some interesting(unconfirmed) reports of this ops:

    A. The actual fighting took place in Langkhu village located inside Myanmar, 10-15 km away from Indo-Myanmar border.

    B. If the above is true then this was a 'surgical strike' inside Myanmar. Officially we 'did not cross the international border'.
