Indian oil companies have signed an agreement to build one of the world’s largest integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complexes in Maharashtra state. The 60 million metric ton per annum (MMTPA) complex will be built at an estimated cost of $40 billion and is expected to be commissioned by 2022.

New Delhi (Sputnik) — The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) will build the complex with IOC hold the 50 percent stake in the west coast refinery project while HPCL and BPCL will own 25 percent each.

"It will be a green refinery comprising 50 units designed to operate at the highest level of efficiency, and will be self-sufficient in power and utilities requirements, besides creating a benchmark in environment management," an IOC official said.

As India is migrating to global standard fuels by April 1, 2020, Indian oil companies are investing $13.5 billion for refinery upgradation. The west coast project will also be designed to produce Euro-VI and above grade transportation fuels. The refinery will have an in-built flexibility for processing a wide spectrum of light and heavy crude oil grades. Indian refiners are scouting for cheaper heavy crude oil grades from Iran and Iraq in recent years. This is evident from the decision of filling half of country's three strategic oil reserves with Iranian oil. India has created oil reserve in its underground rock caverns of storage capacity 5.33 million metric tons of crude oil at three locations.

"It (west coast project) will also be able to produce on-demand product mix of petrol and diesel streams, as well as other refined products and petrochemical streams with the highest level of integration and energy efficiency," IOC said in a statement. London-based IHS has been entrusted with the market study for the chemicals and petrochemicals to be produced at the complex.

Earlier this year, Aramco of Saudi Arabia and Shell had expressed their interest in storing crude oil in the strategic petroleum reserve facilities. India needs to import 80 percent of the total oil requirement of the country.

Two more strategic oil reserves to be built

Two more strategic oil reserves with a combined capacity of 10 million metric tonnes (MMT) — at Chandikhole in Odisha and at Bikaner in Rajasthan with three such reserves at Visakhapatnam, Mangalore and Padur in Kerala — with a combined capacity of 5.33 MMT.

    What's the big picture??

British BP&Reliance Aims to Reign Indian Energy Market With $6Billion Investment

Energy-starved India witnessed another big bang investment as British firm BP and India’s Reliance Group agreed to invest $6 billion to develop deep water gas fields over the next three years.

New Delhi(Sputnik) — The two partners aim to capture a large chunk of the oil and gas market — both upstream and downstream- in India, which consumes four million barrels a day in oil products and is expected to grow by 5-7% per annum for a decade. India today consumes over 5 billion cubic feet a day of natural gas and aspires to double gas consumption by 2022. Under the agreement, they will award contracts to progress development of the ‘R-Series' deep water gas fields in Block KGD6 off the east coast of India. The R-Series (D34) project is a dry gas development in water-depths of more than 2,000 metres, approximately 70 km offshore.

"Development of the three projects, with total investment of $6 billion, is expected to bring a total 30-35 million cubic metres of gas a day new domestic gas production onstream, phased over 2020-2022," Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) said in a statement.
Earlier, India's Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan invited BP to begin sale of petrol and diesel in retail market as it has Indian government's approval of selling through 3,500 fuel retail stations. But BP has decided to go with Reliance in retail market as well.

"The two companies will jointly explore options to develop differentiated fuels, mobility and advanced low carbon energy businesses in India, as India transitions to a low carbon world. The companies expect to collaborate, in addition to the conventional transportation and aviation fuels retailing, on unconventional mobility solutions, addressing electrification, digitization and disruptive mobility trends," RIL & BP announced jointly.

"This strategic partnership not only strengthens the relationship between two global energy leaders, but is also in line with and supports the forward-looking policies and vision of the Government of India," RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani said.
In 2011, BP took a 30% stake in multiple oil and gas blocks in India operated by RIL, including the producing Block KGD6 in a $7.2-billion deal. Since formation of this partnership in 2011, the two companies have invested over $1.6 billion in deepwater exploration and production in the period to May 2017.

The IOC plant in vypeen is facing huge opposition from local people including woman and children.Today 6 buses of protestors were brought to Central police station Ernakulam. There was no space. So they were kept inside bus itself. If protests continue the plant in Kerala may not materialize.

They have lost it long long back. They are Dhimmies since fairly long time, and are very pride of that.

They will do slavery in Gulf. But will ruin every Enterprise in their own land.

    Keep it up!!

    Nope its not.

North India faced foreign onslaught of barbarians for more then 1000 years. Gems of Knowledge like Takshila and Nalanda largest Universities of ancient were destroyed. It is said the Takshila burnt for weeks. Imagine the knowledge and heritage which got destroyed along with this.

And this is not single alone standing incident. There is not even a single structure which was spared destruction. There is not even a single structure standing which predates Islamic Rule. All structures, temples, monuments were destroyed. Some of them are still disputed, even till date. Example - Babri Masjid, Gyanvapi Mosque, Mathura Mosque all the important cultural and religious symbols were destroyed.

Still North India was able to protect its cultural and religious identity. But yes it lost its wealth, knowledge and become illiterate and miserably poor.

Now compare this to Kerala. Since it was last tip of India it was relatively protected. It has to face barbaric Islam for only 250 years. In Kerala it started as late as Tipu Sultan. But the Keralians were not able to withstand that onslaught and see what it has become, after this onslaught.

Just barbarism of Tipu Sultan and Mopla Movement had destroyed Kerala. What would have been fate of Kerala if it had faced onslaught, on the scale of North India had faced.

Now see what Kerala has become. Hindus are fast dwindling majority in Kerala. And is on the verge to loose its ancient cultural identity. Now its just matter of time.

Kerala has brought all the ills to itself buy embracing Christianity and bowing down to the feet of Islam.

Hindus of Kerala feels proud in denouncing basic values on what Hinduism Stands. They have become Dhimmis of Abhramics and are proud owner of this title.
