Nothing like that. Majority of the units heading to the UN are also outfitted comparatively better. But the issue is that it is one time gesture with no replacement/spare in place.

That was the issue with the procurement of operational equipment under the ACSFP head too. It took about 3 years for army to be able to get the due sanction for funding for the repair and maintenance of the equipment purchased under the head. Imagine the loss of equipment attributed to operational attrition.

And can you put up the photo graphs?

Every defence contract everywhere in the world has pay offs. Even the current dispensation seeks certain percentage as fees for any set up/contract, irrespective of the tall claims of Modi.

What is required is for someone to 'bell the cat'. If a single vendor situation, then so be it.

Can you put up the photographs if you have them?

Neither is responsible. Government of India is responsible as the number of tenders they cancel, majority consider it a serious waste of time and not worth wasting effort as there are more lucrative markets (in terms of effort to result) than India, which will never decide on an induction anyways.

Also, for bold part, I find that amusing. Can you elaborate as to why do you claim that?

I wonder under who the CGDA comes? Surely not army :) .. so perhaps .... MoD?

    Elaborate on this.

    How?

Or clearly someone knows that single vendor will not be allowed and the so called penchant for propriety, only valid for defence of country, will ensure the contract never fructifies thereby ensuring the obsolescence of the armed forces is completely achieved.

I have never ever understood why OFB does not get their gun designs right in spite of the gun being the most primitive peace of weaponry on the battlefield.

Could have been if Parrikar was still around. He probably did more than what MoD has done in last decade.

OFB lobby too has a significant pull for GI Rifles. And then Army's idea of switching t 7.62x 51 nato for Assault rifles is absolutely stupid.
Finally developing a new rifle than rather just building FNFAL's too was dumb.

When you have incompetent manufacturers and customers that think on lines of a goldfish, you will routinely have such situations.

That is broad statement of insignificance. Do you mean to say that army should not draw up a GSQR?

I knew you guys would fall for the cosmetic make up to the standard issue helmet

Standard issue of course being the non-metal M1 as under

Just put a disruptive pattern cloth over it. Costs Rs 200 or so per piece for modifications.

Notice the disruptive painting done on INSAS and the rubber lining on the edge of the helmet non-metal M1, all non-standard and local modification including the gloves. Nothing is standard issue.

That's too bad. There was some discussion about new helmets when photos were released. So I guess people assumed they were coming from MKU.
Hopefully this new order will get extended to cover whole army then.
