Peshawar: Islamic State's Pakistan chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed was killed when a roadside bomb he was planting went off in the country's restive northwest tribal region, according to a media report.

Saeed along with two of his accomplices were killed on Thursday when the bomb they were planting exploded in Toor Dara area of Tirah Valley in the Khyber tribal region, a media report said.

The security forces claimed one of the men killed in bombing was the Pakistan IS chief, the report said. However, there was no confirmation from the Islamic State (IS) militant group.

Saeed hailed from the Aurakzai Agency and was among five leading Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commanders who announced their disassociation from the banned outfit in October 2014.

The group had joined IS under the leadership of Shahidullah Shahid, a former spokesman of the TTP. The IS high-command through a message in 2014 had declared Saeed as the IS chief for Pakistan.

ISIS Pakistan Leader Killed: Hafiz Muhammad Saeed Dies From Own Islamic State Bomb Explosion

The leader of the Islamic State group's faction in Pakistan was killed Thursday along with two other people when an explosive device he was handling detonated unexpectedly, multiple news reports said. The reports vary on the method in which Hafiz Muhammad Saeed died in the Pakistani region of Toor Dara in Tirah Valley: The bomb either exploded during the assembly process or while he was helping to plant it near the side of a road, the Express Tribune reported.

Saeed was widely known for being head of Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), a group of top Taliban commanders, prior to his association with the Islamic State group, which is also known as ISIS or ISIL. (The Islamic State group has yet to confirm the reported death.) JuD was blacklisted last year by the U.S., which designated the group as a "foreign terrorist organization." He was also the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a group of Pakistani fighters accused of playing a major role in the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai, India.

Saeed had recently finished chairing a conference in which he and some other speakers said they believe the current conflict in Yemen was part of a master plan to bring the combat to Saudi Arabia, which would then pose a greater threat to Pakistan. “It’s to be decided by the Saudis, not by anybody else, ... whether the security of Saudi Arabia is under threat or not,” Saeed said at the Protection of Harmain Sharifain Conference in Chuburgi Chowk, Pakistan, the International News reported.

Before insisting that Houthi rebels should leave Sanaa, the Yemeni capital, and allow the "legitimate government" to return to power, he said the war in Yemen was initiated by the U.S. and that it was Pakistan’s obligation to protect other Arab nations. He said Muslims should prepare to sacrifice everything, including their lives, to keep the "Holy cities" secure.

Saeed is still under suspicion by India for his alleged role in the Mumbai attacks, which left 174 people dead. He was held for several months before being released, but he remains on India's list of most wanted criminals. There is also a $10 million reward from the U.S. for any information that would lead to his capture, the Associated Press reported.

It's a trap to make India feel at ease. We shouldn't believe it without concrete evidences. Be vigilant!!
