Once handed over to the IAF, the LCA’s first base, briefly, will be at a station in South India, from where the fighters will move in batches to Phalodi, the sources said. Moving planes in small batches is a normal IAF procedure.

The First and Home Base for HAL TEJAS is Sulur Air Force Station(VOSX), Coimbatore.:india:

When the fighters move from there it self later, like our Su-30MKI, Bareilly AFS is the home base later it deployed around India.:india:

As LCA is a replacement for MIG-21s, so they will be majorly stationed om the wester sector with majority of other A/Cs. Soon Navy will have Mk-2, that could be stationed in Tamil Nadu and Konkan Belt.

the whole Idea of developing LCA was to replace our aging fleet of Mig 21's but as it got delayed, We opted for MMRCA to replace Mig 21's now I am Under confusion that which of these are gonna replace the Mig 21 series??

anyways Mig 21 bison is here to stay for another decade, rest of the Mig 21's are being replaced by which Aircraft?

The Indian air force first of all is looking to increase its no. of Squadron.M.I.G-21 BISON as we all know is going to stay in the air force for some more time.LCA as i mentioned earlier can be deployed to perform n number of operations.like defensive role or as an escort for an strike air craft.it can also deployed to engage the enemy in direct combat role(in mixed formation) or can be assigned as tail of the Charlie(for overlooking enemy air craft).LCA definitely is going to be a replacement for M.I.G-21.MK-2 series will be far better in terms of speed, and precision.

yeah sure it is,but when you have MIRAGES,SU-30's,jaguars i don't think so LCA will be deployed for strike missions.it will be used to escort our main strike fighters. although i am pretty sure MK-2 series will hell of machine.

Thats bit far fetched, lol, Mk-2 has to be developed....I have read that the pilot talked about controls and ease in flying, with latest avionics, engine etc that could be a case!!:tongue1:
