    Only 5 LCA till now. 15 more IOC2 aircrafts yet to come. The only way they remqin bang on schedule is, by yet again fooling IAF by not producing 20 MK1 FOC aircrafts.

    These configs are not possible and you obviously need 2 fuel tanks, to get LCA anywhere with a heavy strike load.
    The only changes that might come, are a twin rack, with other LGBs in a smaller form factor and hopefully a centerline quadrack for 125Kg bombs, but if that fits needs to be seen as well.

    Production is one thing, let's see if FOC will be achieved without issues, that's more important.

    I choose a Centerline 800 litre and one 1200 litre wing for extending the range.
    It will look asymmetric but load will be almost equal on either sides and it will work..

    100% agree - similarly a lot has been said about LCA mk2 being over/never materialise etc, I am not so sure of such reports or so called experts point of view & take it with a pinch of salt, as no official report point to it being shelved off, instead contrary point to mk2 at 2024-25 as first prototype as per official schedule. Only possibility is Mk2s may take the place of Mk2 project.

    The LCA's reporting vs the actualreality of the program is truly shocking I can only imagine very powerful vested interests are working against the LCA (for obvious reasons).

    Reposting from attack helicopter thread, since it's more suitable here.

    @LonewolfSandeep @Abingdonboy

    One thing most forumers are missing about mk2 is that , process is already underway.Remember np3,the one whose construction is supposed to start in December and work on whom is already supposed to have started( as reported by sbalaji of Another Indian forum and some other sources).Well it is also supposed to be the first Tejas prototype to be integrated with ge-f414.Also five f414 are already in process of being received as of this July.

    Look here-
    https://www.livefistdefence.com/2015/02/part-3-official-lca-navy-mk2-wishlis.html

    Ironically,while for mk1,naval Tejas prototypes were derived from air force versions.This time, since naval prototype is going to be integrated with f414 first.I am guessing mk2 for airforce will get derived from naval versions,(once mk1a development is complete). After all new engine integration is the most time consuming part here.Also takes care of HAL contention of not having enough staff to work on mk1a and mk2 simultaneously.After all an ADA/HAL team is already embedded with navy for naval prototypes development at Goa.

    Now maybe the mk2 will fall short of all design goals.Will be worse than mk1a.Will have no place in airforce new squadron structure ( with 400+ new planes required in next decade).But to assume that ADA/DRDO/HAL will not develop the next logical/iterative version of their only fighter plane is just idiotic.

    Ohh!!! I remember the good old days of 2008 to 2012 when we used to post such pictures and used to defend LCA against the likes of JF, J10 & F-16.

    Wait!! We are doing the same thing even today after 9 years, because we don't have the machines ready with the configurations promised by our agencies.

    In short its just a picture posted by either a fanboy or our DRDO & HAL duo has come up with new poster after rigorous development of 5 years. Sometimes I think that DRDO & HAL scientists are bunch of BCA graduates who are mostly engaged in developing good posters and ppt.:facepalm:
