True for the MKI, not true for LCA, because the offer to develop MK1A came from HAL, because that was the only way to keep the production line running and address at least some of the shortcomings if Tejas.

IOC was done under UPA 2 and because Antony pushed it. Parrikar might had his part in convincing to compromise for the MK1A, just as Antony did for the 2nd MK1 squad, but he is not responsible for the MK1A.

PV-6 is intended to train Pilots as of now. There may be new pilots as more LCAs coming in..

Parrikar and Mk1's IOC are not related. And Mk1A predates Parrikar.

HAL cooked up Mk1A because there was a 3-4 year gap between the last delivery of Mk1 and first delivery of Mk2.

He was talking about PV-6 (KH-T2010) which made its last public appearance at Aero India 2017 for customer flights and it was nearly ~9 months ago.

No I am talking about Mk1+, Do you know that change in design is proposed to reduce drag by 8% which shall make trans sonic acceleration 20% higher and will improve highest speed by 2%. It will release more space for fuel. If wastage space in cockpit is used to accommodate more fuel, MK1 in itself can become a great plane. It is happening but let us expect that it happens fast. Tejas Mk1+ bellow 6 ton weight and aerodynamic improvement shall be an awesome plane. If we put EJ230, it shall be an out performer.

LCA at 13.2m length is same as M2K with 14.36m length. The Atar engine of M2K is 5.07m long and the present F404 engine of LCA is 3.91m long. so 5.07-3.91=1.16m.
now 13.2+1.16=14.36m. When I wrote that French mastery in tailless design shud be used to convert LCA into a platform superior to M2k, I had these calculations in mind. If M2K with 41 sqm wing area can carry 3.2tons of fuel internally with all the avionics and stuff, why can't LCA carry about 3 tons with better avionics? Something is wrong with the internal arrangement of avionics in LCA.

Exactly sir. However, because of Higher cross section to length ratio, LCA faces some drag issues which can be rectified to some extent by aerodynamic improvements. They can fully be addressed in MK2 version with increase in length or by prolonging the nosecone. Rest we can do as you say. I think HAL guys are slow learners. May be some people working to sabotage the project by not allowing the design to be optimized. Cokpit elevation is one more aerodynamic change. We hope to happen it soon.

What do you have to say on Tejas with less than 6 ton weight and some aerodynamic improvement, can take on any plane of same category in the world. If we can put 500 kg additional fuel, it will become mini MMRCA in light avatar. What say sir?

I had clearly stated that LCA Mk1A will be superior to Gripen NG. What else do we want.
