The problem is that DRDO is not willing to accept it.

    F-22 present config is,
    upload_2016-9-26_21-29-43.png
LSA has wingtip missiles also which exceeds the load out of F-22 in air to ground strike role. LSA can carry 8xSDBs+2xK-77M/Meteor+4xASRAAM. If I can have MICA-NG with folding fins, I can exceed the A2A loadout of F-22 which at present is same as F-22.

Maybe the Tatas would be interested. They are known to fund startups and already have a bit of experience with Sikorsky and LM.

People can fund crores for real estate, food and online shopping firms but when it comes to some serious engineering stuff, they shy away with their tails between their legs.

Its true. Indians are obsessed with foreign stuff even if it is substandard or fake. They will click a selfie with a drugged tiger in Thailand but will not visit Ranthambore or Jim Corbett. Give them a green card and see how they flee the country. Sab gadhaari log hai.

IAF will never support any Indian effort. Have you ever noticed that IA Generals become Governors in India and retire to huge villas, IAF chiefs become Ambassadors and retire to huge villas but only IN chiefs retire to a flatted accommodation. They don't become Governors or Ambassadors. Why? because the believe in India and indigenisation. Bribes nahin milti navy main.

Design the LSA for the Navy then, by the time the carriers are ready, so will the LSA, incase they are willing to have a small stealth squadron.

That is not true. Only IA and IAF. And that is because of Congress ruling for 60+ years.

The part of some people buying foreign is because of psychological warfare being done through foreign owned media and foreign funded movies.

I would do it. I cooperate with startups. But I'm not that rich to fund yours.

how would it work out if a 1/15th scaled model was set up for wind tunnel tests in IISC/IITK via private funds? You could collaborate with a professor who would willingly assign students to complete the data logging. Cheap option but it would stretch the time scale of the project (there would be issues with confidentiality and egos, as every one would want a piece of the pie)
