Why to launch a development if it solve nothing? The UAE was not a valid motivation for such a development.

Dassault doesn't allow communication to the media about any ongoing deals. At the same time, the Indian govt doesn't allow companies to communicate details either.

Take a look at Sukhoi. When was the last time they made an announcement about the FGFA JV? Answer: Never.

An engine brings life, like a river. You can't give it a name that kills.

Jhansi ki Rani is more apt for an artillery gun or something.

There are three programs, K-9, K-9+ and K-10.

The French are currently involved in the K-9 and K-9+.

Weight is actually an issue. If the weight is reduced even by say ~8 tons, then a sub 60 ton tank would itself take care of the problems this project is facing.

Then the problem of fill spectrum active and passive protection system.

We also need a smooth bore cannon.

The engine is requiring too much attention presently which is causing problems in present fleet.

EJ has majority work from UK. Plus this is a new JV with RR & DRDO. So we can expect to have full control over the program without other nations like Germany etc being part of it. UK wants to get out of EU and wants to rebuild its own Defence Industry independent of EU. They will henceforth be more like France.

You have limited yourself to a transactional level. We are interested in a partnership. However we see it, no partnerships have happened and you are satisfied with a deal which is less than ideal for us. Which is what Sancho has been repeating since ages.

Question is not really what Brits can offer that ruskies or frenchies or isrealis cant. The question really is what Brits are willing to offer that frenchies or ruskies arent.
So unless you insist that brits are technologically behind us and no tangible benefit will accrue to us by parterning with them, I dont see whats the objection. Rather this has piqued my interest and we should explore it further.

Yes Brits have a lead in technology.

Now count me three things we can gain from there. At a better cost, and at a better ToT terms.
