    But fauji foundation is doing well.In the end that's all that matters .So are the politicians , the landlords , the army , the bureaucrats , the industrialists .

    Agree. That was a time when the sub continent was considered nothing more than a useful temporary tool of leverage by the US and USSR. They would never have built a band of fanatics around their own countryside. Would have been smart enough to use an army, whose members are actually bred to follow orders. A war experienced man is a mighty danger, a man who understands and tasted the addiction of violence. To let them free to roam around is asking for it.
    Having them tied with a army with a mandate is the safest way.

    Pakistan abducted its own citizens on its own soil to hand over to USA for money. It carried out renditions on its behest. It secretly okayed the drone attacks. ISI escorted RD to the airport despite his name being on the ECL. The list of such crimes against the State goes on and on. Yes, USA was following its national interests, but can the same be said of Pakistan? Or was it to benefit just a few:

    I cannot argue with that statement about its merits.
