Considering 15 minutes time frame from launch to target hit........an a/c carrier travelling at 28 knots /hour could be any where in a circle of radius 7 nautical miles centered at the position where the carrier was located at the time of the launch of the missile.
Now that's a lot of area..........Considering the warhead travelling at 10 mach starts maneuvering( for updated carrier position ) at a height of 20km would experience an acceleration(lateral) of 55 G (considering turn radius of 20km).........now that's possible or not, I don't know.....experts of this forum can clarify.

Americans are no fools and they know that as far as IQ is concerned they have nothing to talk about but yet they have surprised the world with newer weapons. All you guys are have forgotten about a warship which they have tested and is ready for deployment on short notice to kill satellites in space and also protect their own satellites in Space called X-37.

Missiles require guidance and if the satellite based guidance is taken out who will reach where and attack what? Sea has no terristrial landmarks to update IRS or Doppler nav which work on DR nav mode. How will you reach a place in space to be able to lock on using your terminal guidance?

I think some other navy ships or spy drones or subs could provide it the terminal lock.....aint it???

With 8 satellites on a 96-100 minute low earth orbit, that's approximately 12 minutes between each satellite and the area viewable from an altitude of 600-1000km is likely to be a few million square km, so there's likely to be significant overlap in coverage, and something 332m long with 2 nuclear reactors on-board should stand out.

I honestly don't have any information regarding the start of manoeuvring. I agree that aerodynamic manoeuvring could only start around 20-30km but thrust manoeuvring could overcome this problem - a technique already practiced with ABMs and ASATs, reference China shooting down a satellite at nearly 900km altitude, as well as THAAD/SM-3/GBI.

So it could start manoeuvring far sooner theoretically.

On-board terminal radar guidance is another possibility, but I understand it's tricky because of the ionising effects of re-entry. IR even more tricky obviously. EO however could work. This diagram does suggest a self-homing missile of some kind but then, its source isn't verifiable.

You make an interesting point and the X-37B has caused China and Russia considerable consternation, however I'm not sure what they would fit in such a small bay (7ft x 4ft), unless the plan is to use the vehicle itself as the weapon with CHAMP or something similar.
