Now an FN F2000 has been seen with NSG:

According to INDRA, the NSG's armory also includes TAR-21, X-95, P90 and M4 as well.

Either they are trying everything out to see what works best (and give weapon-familiarization courses for officers), or they have a genuine desire to possess every single type of weapon ever created!

NSG commando wearing Quarter zip combat shirt also called 1/4 Zip

    =========

    • Staying cool and comfortable in the line of duty is essential for any military or tactical personnel, that's why Most Quarter zip combat shirts have :-
    • Loop on sleeve pockets for attaching rank and flag patches
    • Reinforced elbow patches
    • Underarm gusset to eliminate bulk and chafing
    • Two-way stretching material promotes mobility
    • Moisture wicking (depending on the shirt)
    • While the body of the shirt is moisture-wicking and breathable, the sleeves are ultra-aggressive and made with a tear-resistant weave with multiple reinforced pockets.

The National Security Guards (NSG) - India's elite counter-terrorism force, is for the first time preparing its personnel for the newest security challenge for 'multi-city and multiple attacks' in India.

A top source in the NSG said, "The force has been actively conducting mock drills with multiple targets and multi city attack."

This involved NSG Commando's from its headquarters in Delhi, and various regional hubs. The idea was to put to test the real potential in case of multiple attacks."

India witnessed the gruesome attacks of 26/11 which killed 166 people in the year 2008, this was also an example of a multi-target attack. The intelligence input at the time had called it a "curtain raiser". But there have been key advances in technology and strategy.

Besides electronic gadgetry which assists the NSG commandos, the elite force has also procured head-mounted K9 camera system for its dog squad, in order to facilitate a 360 degree vision to the handlers and operation. The mock drills are perfect to test the ability of the force.

The technology enables commanders in anti-terror operations like room intervention and assaults. Sources say the operational commander can witness what the dog is seeing through the set of cameras mounted on the goggles.

In case of a next terror attack, there is very likely scenario that the four-legged soldier would go for the kill, followed by human soldiers.

Albeit post 26/11, terror attacks have been largely limited to the western border with Pakistan. There has been two terror attacks in Punjab: Gurdaspur in July 2015 and attack on Pathankot Airbase in 2016.

The force is preparing its commandos for any imminent action.

While there seems to be dormant threat perception from terror outfits like the dreaded Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and al-Qaeda, the real threat may come from Pakistan-based terror organisations Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Sources though downplay the terror threat from Rohingya Muslim, and say the intelligence agencies are tasked to look into such threats.

While the anti-terror commando squad has hinted that a lot has changed since 26/11, the influx of new technology along with dog squad gadgets will elevate the capabilities of NSG to a whole new level.

Or maybe they are following the American special forces procurement structure. Here individual sof units can order weapons and gear of their units preference apart from the basic standard gear provided and send the bill to dod

I haven't seen ACC honey badger in India. Our forces should try that out. It's an amazing firearm.

Its AAC actually. Advanced Armaments Corp.

If you go to the first post of this thread, you'll see some ideas I had for NSG upgrades. Honey Badger was included, also gave the reasons why I found it attractive.

    Check it out.

Hope they procure flame resistant ones. Those seriously protect the user from burns. I have seen what a grenade can do to the skin.

NSG are an elite intervention force that rapidly responds to incidents anywhere in India, they aren't meant to be used on a routine basis and are only called in when needed.

They number barely in the few hundred but that is more than enough, by your logic there should be 10,000s of DEVGRU operators.
