New Delhi: Key UPA ally and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar is sulking again over not being made number two in the Union government. According to sources, Pawar and his close aide Praful Patel are even ready to quit the Cabinet.
Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Heavy Industries Minister Praful Patel on Thursday skipped key UPA Cabinet meet for the second time in a row.
While the Cabinet meeting was on at the Prime Minister's residence at 6 PM, Pawar was closetted with Patel and NCP spokesperson D P Tripathi at his residence.

The row erupted after Pranab Mukherjee, who held the de facto post of the number two, quit the government to contest the Presidential poll.
The controversy was triggered after the chair next to the Prime Minister was allocated to Defence Minister A K Antony at the last Cabinet meeting, signalling that he was now the number two in the government.
Pawar was allocated the seat next to Antony, apparently upsetting him as he used to sit at the same place when Mukherjee was in the government.
NCP had on Saturday last also stayed away from the UPA meeting on Vice Presidential poll candidate.

Simple reason he wanted Pranab post means number 2 position in UPA and for that Mr. A K Antony is likely to be promoted. So he has not attended meeting. It show how much he hungry for power.

The Great Maratha knows his game better than Raul & brigade. MNS will shortly merge with SS and than NCP will pull out of congress led govt in Maharastra. NCP will support SS+BJP govt from outside or may be join them. They will than go to people to say that did it to bring down corruption and ensure the welfare of Maharastra and the nation. NCP will pull out of UPA at the same time. After that TMC will leave UPA in oct/nov.

Anyone who is seen supporting UPA today has no chance in next general/state elections. The Great Maratha Knows it. he is playing his cards as good as Chatrapati once did.

I Don't think NCP will Join SS/MNS/BJP in 2014 Assembly Polls, but SS/MNS Alliance is Guaranteed. They will Ally just for sake to get Congress Out of Power in state,Its even the wish of Bal thackerey.

Congress May succeed in winning trust of Pawar and he will stay in cabinet.

As Stated he might give outside support to SS+BJP govt in Maharastra and wait for right time to call for state elections. he does not want to sail in the sinking boat of UPA anymore. Atleast not in Maharastra which is their main territory.
