    Yes indeed.

When we put President post as honorary or limited as for photo-sessions and meetings , not as a profession , great men should be allowed to take this post till they expire.

Ofcourse we cant compare him or any President. His field was different from others.

Kalam is notably the best President India has ever seen when he took the office @ 2002.

It was indeed sad to see very old age people representing the nation so young, so vibrant.

And mind it, its just my personal opinion.

Im just sick of seeing oldies with their mindset dictating terms around in the country.

I urge ppl whoever doubt kalam sir's ability with age now, to prove when he was not functional and behaved just like a rubber stamp .. ??

he brought respect and honour to nation wherever he visited.. (one of kind only after Sir Rajendra Prasad and Sir S Radhakrishnan)

Kalam was a good scientist, a good human being, a visionary and more importantly a simple man.

nobody is talking about rubber stamp or things unrelated.

All humans grow age. And with age comes disabilities.

He was the best in his field and father of our missiles we are all proud of... why retire him from that field 10-12 years back???

suresh kalmadi, a raja, etc., etc., etc., are not disabled or old age persons.. but whats the use ....

Kalam sir as you said a scientist, scholar, teacher, an icon and people president... he is the need of the hour.

age factor with professional career is different sir.. but in this case Kalam sir's age doesnt make any difference ..

He is the need of the hour.????

What urgency in president ship are we looking to @ hour?

What all policies are you expecting from him for his term.

what all things you liked about his tenure as president last time???

I am not against him.. im just against people of 80's getting big posts, when average life span of Indian is said to be around 65.

And bringing morons like raja, kalmadi to compare is a flawed logic.

Anyway i dont want to get into argument .

Lets hope Kalam sir will come and save India .

Well, the average age of current parliament is 53 years and it came down from the previous figure of 70 something years. Hopefully you are you are young enough to see a guy in his 40's become the president of India.

He will ignite nation as a whole..
he will reinstate honour of that post..
he will bring more fruit to nation from his foreign tours. this will increase trust and respect for our nation worldwide..
he being in that position will force govt.. to bring new strong policies in all areas (Lokpal and likes) and nation will be benefitted
hope his reinstatement to presidency will bring new wave and enlighten ppl from voting antinationals to power and slow the nations growth..

and many more which are out of our knowledge.

I think Pranab is going to win.
He has support from entire UPA-TMC,BSP,SP,lefties,RJD etc.NDA camp seems to be too divided.I'd love to see Kalam win again. But it looks like its gonna be Pranab this time.
PS: Word is that Kalam is not going to contest. So its gonna be Pranab vs Sangma

Atleast Kalam has acted sensible. Being a president is a tiresome job.

He is known for his dynamic character in his last term and been travelling throughout nation.

But he surely knows he is not superman and he will be 86 at time of the last year of his president-ship.

UPA could have NDA and collectively nominated a consensus candidate for the decorative royal post of the President of India.By doing so they would have upheld the prestige of indian republic in the eyes of the global community.Way this is happening is like a f****** horse sale. Its too sad.
